• Thinking about a laptop hybrid drive

I asked in the quick questions but I thought I might as well make a thread about it too, I hope that's alright. Anyway I'm not sure of the current R/W speed nor RPM of my current HDD, the rpm is either 5400 or 7200, though I think it's 5400 since when I customized the laptop there was a 750GB option and a 1TB upgrade option for free. MY laptop is now delisted so I can't check it out in detail. I'm on Windows 8.1 and every so often bootup takes a while, same with startup after logging in (granted it could be startup programs being the progress, but that's another story). Some tasks like virus/etc. scans and editing heavy documents slow down many task for me to a crawl. For example when I was installing Titanfall's 36GB of audio, every time I typed a letter into a text box, there was like a 1-4 second delay. Speaking of Titanfall, load times are pretty bad from time to time. Sometimes a map loads quick enough that I have to wait for one more player to finish to get the intro cutscene started, however that same map can take so long to load that the match is already 30-60 seconds in. I'm also hoping it will cool down the laptop down to some degree (I know not fully since my gpu isn't all that and I usually push it). I am thinking of getting this one by Seagate. Can anyone recommend it, or one of another brand? Is it a good idea to invest into a hybrid drive?
Could you show us your specs through speccy?

Yeah, that's a 5400 RPM drive. Just get a 7200. I would suggest building a desktop if you wanna have a better experience with something like Titanfall.
I'll live with the performance I get on Titanfall, it's not great but playable is playable, plus I don't have money to spend on a desktop, I just wanted to speed up loading for things in general if I could. I think I'll take your advice, thanks!
