• Questions Concerning The Zune.

I bought a Sandisk Fuse because it was cheaper and did most of what I need. I'm upgrading from a PSP which has always done what I needed it too, E-Books, Photos, Movies, Internet, Music I didn't even play games and it did it well with a very friendly interface. I find the Fuse to be overly complicated, confusing and generally it doesn't live up to the PSP. I'm considering returning it for a Zune. Does anyone want to tell me what they think of it? In addition, does it have an 'Itune' like store or market place that forces me to buy from them? I just want to drag and drop music, MP4's and pictures and be done with it. Can you zoom in on images and set backrounds? How does music work? On the Fuze it has Playlists, Albums and a bunch of other different options. I put all my music in as folders labeled with the band so I want to know if that's all I'll see or all those Album folders and such will still be there to waste my time.
Are you planning on getting a Zune HD? There's a thing called the Zune store. You don't need to buy from it but you have to use the Zune software. No drag and drop. Big disappointment in my case. Zune you are able to set backgrounds and can zoom in. Plus they have things to make ebooks out of .txt documents as well. Overall, it's nice. But not amazing.
Let's say I have a bunch of MP3's. How do I get those on the Zune? [editline]10:20PM[/editline] It sounds like everything I need except the whole not being able to just copy and paste media.
The HD Zune has web browsing. The regular models do not. Basically, you fire-up the Zune software, it finds your media (right click it and get album info/art, it looks nice on them. trust me). And drag it to your player icon in the left corner of the screen. It's really easy.
if you have a zune and plug it in on another computer you can copy the music from the zune to the computer and vice versa [editline]07:33AM[/editline] I have it and i say it's better and cheaper than an itouch comes with a free dock too http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16855604029&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-MP3+/+MP4+Players-_-Microsoft-_-55604029
You still have to have the software installed on that computer as well.
It's no problem though. It installs in less than 5 minutes and takes little more than 58 Mb.
I'm still not sure I follow, finds my media?
searches your music and picture folders and adds them to the libary (or collection) you have on the software.
Zune HD is the second best mp3 player, get it. Or a phone that plays mp3s, I use the Droid.
I guess I'm out of options regardless how I look at it. Apple has fucking Itunes, Sandisk is a over complicated piece of shit. The only other thing is the Sony Walkman but, I doubt that's very good.

My friend has a Zune and it's pretty nice, I would definitely recommend one
Two days late, but how is the battery life? I'm going to get the Zune HD on Saturday.
I don't fucking understand half of this. I'm trying to put my music on but I was lazy and I didn't go in and put actual artists and albums in for every songs so half of them come up as unknown so the options are useless to me and I can't just put them in folders and playlists don't work because I don't know what fucking songs are in them because there is no indication that you have previously or not put that song in the damn playlist so it's just a fucking SNAFU
of course if the MP3 doesnt have the information properly placed it wont show properly, that happens with any software/media player i dont kno about playlists tho, i never bother with those
Well, I just came from the PSP so all I had to do was drag and drop folders labeled, say "The Beatles" full of MP3's and then the folder would show up with all the songs. Easy as that. There is no folder system on the Zune and they make it possible to change the information but they make it so difficult it's near impossible. [editline]09:23PM[/editline] Basically, I have to go through and manually add every single bit of information for over three hundred songs.
try the find album info button
I ended up just making playlists in place of folders which works fine although slow. I fucking love the thing now. I'm typing this on it right now intact.
i have a zune hd, it is great, sounds a lot better than ipod and better video quality but not as much apps
i have a zune hd, it is great, sounds a lot better than ipod and better video quality but not as much apps
How's its size for you? It looks pretty small.
How's its size for you? It looks pretty small.
The screen's smaller then the Ipod Touch by a bit, but I don't care in the least. The playback is great and I just generally love the thing now.
You played Audiosurf on it yet?
i don't think you'll regret getting a zune then. i have one, and the screen is so hard to scratch. it was built for military use if i recall.
The screen is covered with a sheet of glass, not even a kitchen knife will scratch it. I love my Zune, never had an iPod but I've no reason to switch. [editline]07:58PM[/editline] Also Audiosurf is the shit on the Zune.
Hey, glad you like your ZHD! A nice little bit of eye candy you can try is the text tilt. To turn it on go to: Settings>Display>Tilt Now when using the player various parts of the UI will shift as the player moves. It doesn't seem like much, but makes the player feel that much more alive. Kinda gives a pseudo 3d feel to it. I've had several friends pick it up, then slowly tilt it back and forth when they notice the text moving.
How's its size for you? It looks pretty small.
The screen is physically smaller than the iTouch, but the ZHD has a wide screen aspect-ratio (as opposed to the touch's 4:3). It doesn't feel any smaller than the iTouch in practice and you can play wide screen content without boxing or zooming. Also, here are my four favorite screen savers, you might like one of them. I like that second one with the snowboarder and the slide this way one.

I love the Zune. I had a Zune 80 for almost 2 years (it got stolen a few months ago) and I still use the Zune software for playing music on my computer, and I'm planning on getting an HD soon.
I'm fucking glad i recommended after seeing your reaction, It warmed my heart to help someone
