I like how they were urging PS4 players to share as much footage as possible on the PS4, right before (now after) the Xbox One launch :v:
they have no shame

How is setting up a fun challenge for their users a sign of having no shame?
"Hey guys, use this feature included in your console for this challenge we've set up!" How is that a way of spiting Microsoft?

im pretty sure you know this but there is a possibility you dont so i'll say it now
sony isn't some guy, it's a corporation. companies and corps are designed and built specifically to make a profit. setting up a "challenge" by recording PS4 footage might at first glance make you go "oh wow they really love us!!" but really, it's just for free advertisement. announcing it right before the launch of their competitors is a very good move and it was designed specifically to take your mind off of xbox one, and as you can see it's clearly working if you all disagree with me
I wasn't saying that like whoever set this up is an asshole, because it's a logical and obvious way to get their products into more consumer's hands. I was just simply pointing this out.
they did this for pretty much every console launch. Even announcements. the day the Xbox one was going to be announced a ton PS4 news came out and information on the console came out to distract you from the announcement. if you can't understand my point of view then you shouldn't bother trying to argue that i'm wrong.

It isn't free advertisement, it's giving PS4 owners something to do with the share feature. Some users might not share anything, but with this challenge they'll make use of the share feature and get used to using it.
It isn't about competing with Xbox, it's about giving the PS4 owners something to do in the games they own/getting them to buy more launch games.

What does sony have to pay again besides hosting the files?
How much do you think it costs for them to have a player share their gaming experiences on the ps4 with friends?
