So recently, I got a new phone which has awesome video recording quality (Samsung Wave) and recently I've been trying to edit my videos which I took but when I put them into my editing software it doesn't recognise the Mp4 file annoyingly :'( Is there a decent program around, I'm not really fussed about buying it which is hassle free to convert video files?
Thank you :)
You are trying to convert Mp4 to which format exactly?
Sounds like you need a transcoder, try one of these:

Any format really. Something which is good quality and I don't really loose anything converting the video.

If you have any adobe products just chuck it in media encoder, and output an uncompressed .avi, it will take up a little more space, but your cpu wont have to render any frames making editing easier.

Do these accept .mp4, .mkv, etc. and convert/burn to DVD?
I personally use Super Converter by eRightSoft. It's awesome, It converts most formats including MP4, MKV's and whatnot. It's a great tool.
