• Upgrading to GTX580 from 8800GTS (Drivers question)

So I just learned that 5xx series are using different driver(263.09 while 8xxx to 4xx have 260.99). Will I have to totally wipe the old drivers like shown here or will it be okay? I'm using Windows 7 x64 btw.
wipe old drivers, install new ones Also how much are you paying for that 580? Because in terms of pure value the 570 would be a better choice, in my opinion.
Just go in control panel before shutting down the machine to install the new card and remove the Nvidia entries. When you're done plugging in the new hardware, simply head on over to nvidia.com and download the driver that is available for your OS version and videocard. It's really as simple as that.
Alright thats all I needed to know. Thanks guys!
Eh sorry for bumping this thread, but I didn't want to make another one. It appears tha nVidia released new drivers(266.58) which support 6xxx to 5xx so it should work without reinstall right?
If it says it's supported in the changelogs, then there is no need to reinstall.
