Well I for one think that 9 (tim burton) was the greatest movie I've ever seen, but everyone at my school said they thought it sucked.
Falling Down.
That "Kung Pow" movie where the guy had the talking tongue

Snakes on a Plane. It made me lol, especially the national TV version when they dubbed "I'm sick of these mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking plane" to "I'm sick of these monkey fighting snakes on this Monday to Friday plane." Edit: Here's a video of it.
Watchmen, Pulp Fiction, and Lord of the Rings. For whatever reason Lord of the Rings "Isn't cool". Like I give two shits, it was an awesome series.

The game(The movie from '97, people hate it because of that stupid meme D: but it's fucking awesome) Sad to say that I actually liked independence day :v:
Like every action movie that comes out ie Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc.

Star Wars: Episode 2 It had the biggest freaking battle in the series!
Really? Those movies have been praised by lots of people.
Nobody in my age group in my area seems to like them except a few friends. They're like "Watchmen was so stupid", maybe if you didn't pay attention and just wanted superhero shit to go down, then yeah, it's lacking there. If you payed attention to the storyboard and characters it was really good IMO. I had to watch it twice to fully understand it.
I loved the Alien series, it's a classic except for AvP crap, I think every one who saw it should like them, but everyone at my school hates it and calls it scary???
It seems like tons of people hate The Last Samurai but I loved it. Oh and the second Star Wars Trilogy, specifically Attack of The Clones. I loved every minute of it.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY on earth other than me has seen 1984. This movie is absolutely amazing.
Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy... Ultra kick-ass in my opinion.
