• Mouse randomly stops and starts working

For the past few days my mouse has been acting strange. It randomly stops working for a second then starts again. Sometimes it completely locks up, along with my keyboard, so I'm forced to reset my computer via the power button, until I found out I could switch my mouse and keyboard to another usb port. It seems to happen more often when I'm playing a game for awhile. I looked in my event viewer and saw lots of errors, I saved the two that are related to usb. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0S2WgYWbQD8R2xNTHNER3pEQk0/edit?usp=sharing I did a system restore to a point before these errors were being reported, but it's still happening, so it looks like a hardware issue, but since my keyboard has also been locking up I'm afraid it might be my motherboard's usb ports not working. I've tried every usb port, and it keeps happening. I haven't tried using this mouse on another computer or another mouse on my computer for extended periods of time, when it usually happens. EDIT: The problem is still happening but the errors don't always show up on the event viewer.
Ask a neighbor to temporarily trade mouses and see if that's the issue. Other wise try reinstalling your mouse drivers through device manager.
if its happening to both his keyboard and mouse it's definitely a usb controller issue try finding some more up to date chipset drivers for your motherboard otherwise you'll need to RMA it.
What if it's the mouse and keyboard, while unlikely, you don't have the information to know that. Although i'd try finding the device drivers, then the "chipset" drivers for his motherboard. Also before you rma and lose a functioning computer for several weeks. Try finding a pci or pcie usb card to possibly bypass the "usb controller".
I took my brothers mouse, which also happens to be the same mouse, and I've had no lockups or anything. So I think it's just my mouse, it's a little messy and over 2 years old, so I'll be ordering a new one.
