Ok, so I am looking into getting an iPhone, and is the difference in the 4 and 4S big enough to shell out the extra $100? (Or $150 if I get an iPhone 4 refurbished)
I would stay away from the 4 since a new iPhone is due very soon (June if I remember correctly). The 4S will get discounted when this happens so if you are not willing to fork out the extra cash for the latest iPhone, the 4S will still be a great option. I would wait and see what happens.
The difference in the Camera quality and some apps that require the higher quality camera alone makes it worth while. Resale value as well. Siri is pretty useful. The 4S is a lot faster, you can notice.
more important question is how long can you wait? as in can you wait a few months more?
Better processor, better camera, Siri, better value over time and more support.
Those are just a few reasons that fill up the $100 gap
Get 4S.
I just ignored my own advice and bought a 4
I'm a terrible person.

Oh you.
Eh, I figure there are jailbreak solutions for Siri and I don't really need the extra power of the 4S
For all intensive purposes the camera is fine too

Sure Apple is just trying to buttfuck you by "updating" the IPhone 4.
Just saying that i bought IPhone 4S because then i wont change until IPhone 12 or something.
I just wanted something cheap to replace my HTC Trophy on contract
There are broken iPhone 4's all over eBay so I bought one and since I done screen repair
$350 for a self-refurbished iPhone 4 32GB is pretty good, off contract even.

Pretty good.
I could have done even less but I splurged on the screen replacement so now I'll have a cool blue iPhone :v:
Plus I'm selling my iPod to finance it, which I can get ~180 out of, so I'm basically down 170 to replace my phone 6 months into contract
