Sorry about the title but it was not ONLY Australia, it was the ANZAC forces, Australia and New Zealand! Sorry if that has offended anybody. + For naming the Opposing forces "Axis" when they were indeed "Central Powers"
Two Australian sprinters face the brutal realities of war when they are sent to fight in the Gallipoli campaign in Turkey during World War I.
Apoligies if the Title is in any way, shape or form wrong to what the Gallipoli campaign actually was. We watched the film Gallipoli in our History lessons while covering the 1st World War. This film is really good in my opinion, quite emotional, with it portraying Archy Hamilton's life briefly before recruiting to the Australian Army while under-aged. Thanks for reading, I hope you should find the time to watch this, and share your thoughts within this thread.
Australia and New Zealand*
Australia and New Zealand*
Apologies! Thanks dude(!)
WW1 movie? Holy shit it's been long time since I heard another WW1 movie besides "All Quiet on the Western Front".
there were no axis in WW1, it was allies vs central powers
We have watched this movie in school for numerous classses (I live in Australia.) There isn't much WW1 stuff, its mostly about a guy wanting to join the army for ages, finally joins, gets shot and dies.
there were no axis in WW1, it was allies vs central powers
Damn, I'm bad at this History shit. Another edit is due for the description! :v:
You should watch this documentary.
Gallipoli - The Australian attempt to infiltrate Turkey to flank the Axis!
They fought against Ottoman Empire not Turkey. Republic Of Turkey established in 1923.
I thought it was a MEF plan which was partially carried out by ANZAC troops?
It's an iconic Australian film and aside from that its actually a pretty great film too
Damn, I'm bad at this History shit. Another edit is due for the description! :v:
lol dude bad is an understatement, but no reason to shit up the thread by reminding you

Didn't the Ottoman empire lose like five guys in that battle while Australia/New Zealand lost several hundred?
I bet it'd be way more than five and we lost waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than 700 troops, I guarantee it
http://alh-research.tripod.com/Light_Horse/index.blog/1813985/nek-killed-in-action/ Oh, it was about 13
I dunno where you guys got your info... is this relating to one specific battle or the whole Gallipoli Campaign? Cos Britain, France and Commonwealth were involved in that.
Good movie, I also really like "The Lost Battalion" another great ww1 movie.
Great Movie, but it has the most unfitting music in a Movie I've ever heard. This song plays during most of the running scenes:
This looks interesting, but I get the feeling it's one of those war movies that mostly leads up to the war and then there's like, 10 minutes of actual combat.
