I'll keep this simple:
* I have a 256MB flash drive.

* I need a small linux distro (LiveCD) with Rythmbox.

* I plan on using Unetbootin to make it a bootable flash drive.
Any suggestions?
I can't think of any that will fit on a 256 MB drive, most that come with rhythmbox are pretty large distros. Why not install a small distribution to the flash drive (SliTaz or something) and then install Rhythmbox from there?

I am working in windows and rather not have to reboot. My USB stick is the orange one, top-left. Found it in the back of a free P4 system I inherited last week. Linux is the only thing that comes to mind for practical use.
well there is suse studio, MySlax Creator, and reconstructor
Slitaz!
Feather Linux
Slax
Going to give Feather Linux a try, as well as Remastersys using Ubuntu Mini-Remix. I think I just need Openbox, gdm, xorg, and RhythmBox. Shouldn't exceed 247MB, unless I'm doing it wrong. I'm trying to make a LiveCD distro with just a simple window manager for playing music, bootable from a 256MB USB stick. Rhythmbox is a must. My hardware is as follows: 3.0GHz Pentium 4 + HT 768MB RAM DDR400 CL2.5 dual DVD burners @16X 64MB AGP 4x ATi Radeon 7000LE (RV100) Creativve SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 PCI card, works flawlessly with Ubuntu and Mint. 1440x900 VGA LCD, 19 inch. 80GB USB harddrive with shit-tons of music.
well you could try building a small debian (or gentoo if you're up for that) installation with just xorg, SLiM (replacement for GDM, shit's much lighter), openbox, and rhythmbox

http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/ damn small linux is only 50mb, but I'm not sure if it comes with rhythmbox or not, so you might have to install it yourself.
you should do a lfs installation with moc
Build Arch Linux up with Openbox, Xorg and Rhythmbox, actually, no, the CD alone is ~300mb, but if you get a 512mb, go ahead!
Are there any distros tailored towards DJ/KJ for just playing music?
Are there any distros tailored towards DJ/KJ for just playing music?
well there is jacklab, but that project is closed and has been for a while
you should do a lfs installation with moc
What is all that? I guess I don't understand what those are.
What is all that? I guess I don't understand what those are.
lfs is linux from scratch, if you don't know what that is hit distrowatch or wikipedia. moc is music on console, a music player that runs from the terminal

What about Mythbuntu?
Mythbuntu is more TV-oriented. Now that I think of it, the XBMC live cd could be suited for this.
Xbox Media Center? What?
http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=XBMC_Live
http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=XBMC_Live
I have known about this distro, but never understood it's name or xbox relevance, except that there is a media center distro for the old black xbox with the same name, XBMC. It's quite interesting how this distro plays music, i'll have to try it out. Will be running from an internal USB HDD. :buddy:
This is just the remade version of the one for the old xbox.
