• Statue study + older comparison

Yo, this is a statue study I did from life. Took 2 hours. Then I compared it to a drawing I made of the same statue 3 months earlier, quite good progress I think - but I must get better! Why do the hands look so different?
The crotch doubled in size. [editline]04:51PM[/editline] That right, my whole undivided attention was placed there.
Why do the hands look so different?
I think it is because I wasn't as observant as now 3 months later. Wow I was hopeless.
lolpenisOn the serious note, I love sketching and stencling statues + writings. I'll try and get some pictures
I feel like in the first picture the legs are too long and the second one, the arms are too long. Or at LEAST his left arm.
I like the pose of his hand more in the first one and the pose of the arm better in the second. The pose the statue originally has on his hand looks so stiff and unnatural compared to the one you mislooked on the first try. And I can agree with DK83 that the hand looks too long on the second try. Possibly because it's cut off so we imagine it longer than it is.
Great progress, I should do more studies too. :/
