When the U.S. Senate took the first step toward repealing Obamacare early Thursday, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky was the only Republican to vote “no.” “As a physician, I cannot wait to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a health care system that relies on freedom to provide quality, comprehensive, and affordable care,” Paul said in a statement. “But putting nearly $10 trillion more in debt on the American people’s backs through a budget that never balances is not the way to get there. It is the exact opposite of the change Republicans promised, and I cannot support it, even as a placeholder.
http://www.kentucky.com/news/politics-government/article126091309.html
not up to date: wasnt rand paul the only sane republican candidate
My econ class had to watch the Republican debates and then after each one we voted on which candidate we liked best. I was the only one to vote for Rand Paul every time, and got laughed at every time. He's one of the only Republicans that seems to be ideologically consistent (he wants economic freedom as well as social freedom), and also seems to have a conscience.
My econ class had to watch the Republican debates
I'm sorry for you.
I was the only one to vote for Rand Paul every time, and got laughed at every time.
I'm also very sorry for you. fuck those guys
not up to date: wasnt rand paul the only sane republican candidate
idk what he's like now, this was in like 2015
not up to date: wasnt rand paul the only sane republican candidate
Yes but that isn't saying much
Thanks for the try, Randy.
not up to date: wasnt rand paul the only sane republican candidate
no he's pretty insane when you break down his ideology (ultra free market minded, libertarian, isolationist) he just wants absolutely no government at all (except to prevent abortions, outlaw gays, enforce christian values... well you get the idea)
replace it with a health care system that relies on freedom to provide quality, comprehensive, and affordable care,
Let's give those tumor cells a taste of FREEDOM :terrists:
Please change thread title to Rand Paul only Republican with a spine.
Please change thread title to Rand Paul only Republican with a spine.
*spine and brain.
Title and article rather misleading; Paul is 100% behind the repeal, but is not in favor of the budget bill.
Title and article rather misleading; Paul is 100% behind the repeal, but is not in favor of the budget bill.
yeah tbh kinda realized that but also at least he's standing up for his budgetary principles compared to his colleagues who whine and whine about it but don't do anything about it
not up to date: wasnt rand paul the only sane republican candidate
he compared a right to health care to slavery, so there's that
Could it be that hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians only have medicaid due to the ACA expansion? Oh wait that would give Paul too much credit and assumes he actually gives a shit about anyone in this state.
