• Can someone recommend me a gaming keyboard + mouse please?

Hey guys. I received some money for Christmas ($120) and I'm thinking about buying a gaming keyboard and mouse. Right now, I'm using a generic Microsoft keyboard and mouse, nothing special. The keyboard squeaks quite a bit, but I don't mind it too much; it is, however, in need for an upgrade. So can anyone recommend a decent keyboard and mouse? I live in NY, and I order from Newegg. And please, no mice that looks like the Logitech MX518; they looks horrid with the awkward shape and ugly bump things they have going on all over it. Thanks for any help.

I'm gonna go with that mouse, but any better keyboards out there?

I think razer would be a good gaming mouse and keyboard. Mouse: Razer Lechesis, Naga or Diamondback Keyboard: Razer Aurantia, Lycosa or Tarantula
I think razer would be a good gaming mouse and keyboard. Mouse: Razer Lechesis, Naga or Diamondback Keyboard: Razer Aurantia, Lycosa or Tarantula
I've gone back and forth between Logitech and Razer. I won a Mamba and it was the single biggest piece of shit I've used in a long time. It and my Lycosa are serving their purpose as paper weights right now for multiple reasons. The Lycosa's glossy finish is easily smudged and it's keys are cheaply rubberized. Great at first, gross after a week. The Diamondback is great but Logitech is upgrading its sensors to be much faster than Razer's for less. I got a G9x with gift cards on sale for $70 and it is miles ahead of Razer's flagship mouse, the Mamba. The copperback I used for 2 years was decent but for the price it gets topped by Logitech's mid range G5/G500s. I've heard good things about the Tarantula but it's out of this guys price range. For the price, a G15 has the LCD that helps me with core temperatures, who's talking in Vent, etc so if he can splurge I'd still go with a Logitech G15. The LCD seemed kind of pointless at first but not having to tab out to check temps is huge and there's no other way that's plausible to find out who's talking in Vent. Logitech's stuff feels much more solid to me and Razer is slowly churning out more and more gimmicky products. Maybe later I'll post a bit more in depth about why I've opted to ditch Razer, but it's kind of irrelevant since the Logitech combo I posted is the best he can get for $120. I used to love Razer and I still think they make a few great products (still use a Razer pad), but it seems like that G series is taking over in both price and performance.
Keyboard - Ugly looking but the back lighting on this is amazing http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823175005&cm_re=Saitek_Cyborg-_-23-175-005-_-Product Mouse - http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Mice/ROCCAT-Kone/
Thanks for the detailed response man. I'm defintely going with the g500 and g110. My parents will probably lend me some money if it goes over 120. I almost went with the Razer Deathadder and Arctosa. Once again, thanks Facepunch.

Just bought the g500 at Best Buy for $40. I'm going back tomorrow to get the g110, hopefully.

caution about laser mice, their lasers are aimed vertical to the ground, making the clearance level very far. If you like to lift and reposition your mouse, laser mice are very frustrating.
