George Zimmerman photographed with bloody head after shooting Travyon Martin (Somewhat Graphic)
A new photograph obtained exclusively by ABC News showing the bloodied back of George Zimmerman's head, which was apparently taken three minutes after he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, gives possible credence to his claim that Martin had bashed his head against the concrete as Zimmerman fought for his life. The revelation comes as his attorney and prosecutors prepare for Zimmerman's bail hearing today, which could result in his being released from a Florida jail. Zimmerman, 28, is being held on charges of second-degree murder for the Feb. 26 shooting of Martin, 17, which could carry a life sentence if he is convicted. The exclusive image shows blood trickling down the back of Zimmerman's head from two cuts. It also shows a possible contusion forming on the crown of his head. The original police report that night notes that the back of Zimmerman's head was wet, and that he was bleeding from the nose and head.Zimmerman told police that night that he shot and killed the teenager in self-defense after Martin punched him and pounced on him. Zimmerman told police that Martin then bashed his head into the concrete sidewalk during the altercation that took place in the tidy middle-class development of the Retreat at Twin Lakes in Sanford, Fla.
Zimmerman was not admitted to a hospital or given stitches the night of the incident.Zimmerman was treated at the scene by paramedics, then cuffed and driven in a police cruiser to the Sanford police station. He was questioned for hours and later released. In police surveillance video obtained last month by ABC News, Zimmerman's wounds are not apparent, and there were no bandages on his head. The person who took the photograph of a bloodied Zimmerman, asking not to be identified, told ABC News exclusively that they did not see the scuffle that night, but did hear it. The person recalled seeing Martin's prostrate body on the wet grass and said the gunpowder burns on Martin's gray hoodie were clearly visible. The photographer said that after the shooting, Zimmerman asked the photographer to call his wife. When the photographer asked him what to say, Zimmerman blurted out, "Man, just tell her I shot someone."Investigators have seen the photo.Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump is skeptical."How bad could it have been if they didn't take him to the hospital [and] didn't stitch him up," he said in a statement to ABC News in response to the image. "The special prosecutor has seen all the evidence and still believes George Zimmerman murdered Trayvon Martin."Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, said his client has spent enough time behind bars."He needs to get out. He should not be in jail," O'Mara said. "I want him out because I need him out. He wants to get out. His family wants it out. It should happen."If Zimmerman is released, his attorney said, he has a number of potential safe houses prepared. In the meantime O'Mara says the former altar boy, who has become America's highest-profile defendant, has been reading the Bible while in protective custody. In a bail hearing in Florida, the burden of proof to deny bail, even in a second-degree murder trial, is higher than needed to seek a conviction in a trial."They would have to prove that the presumption of guilt is great, and that the proof is evident," O'Mara said.In the capias -- similar to a warrant -- filed against Zimmerman last week, Special Prosecutor Angela Corey and her team set bail at "none."In order to avoid a reduction in bail to a set monetary sum, Corey's team would have to prove its case essentially, something legal experts say is unlikely at this point in the legal process.Zimmerman attorney O'Mara said he doubts the prosecutor will reveal its case before the trial.
If a moderator feels that the photo is too graphic, please add spoilers to it (it wouldn't work for me) or just replace it with a link.
I doubt that even this image will get people to break their preconceptions.
You can't add spoilers to an image.
I think this case is so overblown only because it's a black teen. If it was a white adult no one at all would give a shit.
That picture looks doctored in my opinion.
The amount of controversy and media attention surrounding this is getting really annoying.
This looks radically different to the earlier "enhanced" video, so one of them is a load of crap.

Or maybe they just wiped the blood off at that time?

I bet you can tell from some of the pixels.

because if it was a white adult the police probably wouldn't have let Zimmerman go.

there was once a scooby doo episode where they said u can tell if a photo is edited or not if it has white lines around it. this does not have any white lines therefore it is not edited
I bet you can tell from some of the pixels.
Someone with the pen tool, overlay, add some blur. It wouldn't be hard to fake if you knew what you're doing. I'm actually kind of skeptical, but that's also because of how I notice the blood rolling down his head that way. That fucking angle.
this is doctored.
even though i have absolutely no experiance in photography or editing its doctored
because i said it is
As I've said previously, no one here can decided if he is guilty or not, you do not have all the evidence, all you have is the media
As I've said previously, no one here can decided if he is guilty or not, you do not have all the evidence, all you have is the media
yeah, and even the people with all the evidence aren't necessarily looking at it fairly
Are we sure it's him and not just a photo of someone vaguely looking like Zimmerman ?
Not than I'm part of the "ZIMMERMAN IS THE DEVIL TRAYVON IS JESUS-LEVEL INNOCENT" side of it but this story was just blown so much out of proportion by everyone that it's hard to know what is true and what isn't.
because if it was a white adult the police probably wouldn't have let Zimmerman go.

Not all policemen are racist, biased, cunts. And I think his point was that the media wouldn't be in an uproar right now if it was a white teenager that got shot.
Not all policemen are racist, biased, cunts. And I think his point was that the media wouldn't be in an uproar right now if it was a white teenager that got shot.
Because there hasn't been a case like this with a white teenager.
Because they wouldn't have just let him fucking walk.
So obviously the most reasonable explanation for the photograph, police report, and Zimmerman's account being consistent is that a photograph of the uninjured back of Zimmerman's head was taken at the scene and then edited to be consistent with the police report, which was then also doctored to corroborate Zimmerman's account of the event, because the police department wanted to facilitate a murder.
Those evil, evil bastards.

How do you know?
The reason why this got big was because the police let him go. All those other crimes that are black on black or white on white or black on white? There is due process, aka a trial.
There wasn't going to be a trial initially for Zimmerman, until there was an uproar from the local black community and other groups.
The media then had to corrupt the information and idiots couldn't think for themselves and now believe it's because society hates light skinned people or some bs.
Realize if you kill someone, even in self defense, the authorities don't just fucking let you go.
Something about that photo looks iffy. The pattern of the blood and the direction it's going, something just doesn't look quite right.

The DA was the one who decided not to press charges initially. Not the police. HOW DO YOU PEOPLE STILL NOT GET THIS
How do you know?
Because NBC told him so.

>yes there has been.
>Yes they would. You can't just arrest someone without evidence, guy. Until they have evidence that this wasn't a defensive killing, then they can't hold him, because then their asses are fired and sued to hell and back. A defensive killing is not grounds to detain someone. There must be evidence to suggest that the killing was not defensive before a person can be detained by police. It was found that this was likely a defensive killing, therefore they chose not to hold him unless evidence to the contrary appeared.
in every martin thread: people who don't understand the basics of law.
They actually have to even in the case of supposed self defense.
A killing of any kind calls for trial to determine if it was justified. You can't just throw your hands up and go "It was defensive!" and walk away.
When I read the title I pictured Zimmerman holding Trayvon's decapitated head, Braveheart style.
So shut the hell up about basics of law.
because if it was a white adult the police probably wouldn't have let Zimmerman go.

And how can you be so sure about this? Please provide cold, hard, objective material to support your statement.
When I read the title I pictured Zimmerman holding Trayvon's decapitated head, Braveheart style.
I thought the same thing when I read the headline.
Because they wouldn't have just let him fucking walk.
Please look up the "Stand your Ground" law and understand it's purpose.
Please look up the "Stand your Ground" law and understand it's purpose.
Yeah, they still have to put him on trial to determine if it is justified. As said, you can't just throw your hands up and go "It was self-defense!" and walk away.
