I have a or 5 year old pre-built with the specs below. I have run Call of Duty 4 on medium with 20 fps and can run high with a low fps. I know this isn't very impressive but for a computer like this it is. Particle effects are very laggy especially fire and smoke but without any of those I can get 30 fps. My system information screen is saying that I only have 287.9 available physical memory whatever that means. Just wondering why my pc is performing better than it should. I run it on 1024x768 resolution.
-Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.93 Ghz Hyper-Threaded
-Sapphire Radeon X300SE with another secondary X300SE which somehow only manages small resolutions but the primary can handle big ones.
-350 Watt power supply
-1024 MB RAM
-Windows XP SP 3
Those specs slightly dated, but your framerates reflect that. If you want to try to get some lasting power out of your computer, you can either spend some cash upgrading it, or turn off all the bloated programs you may have running.
I would've expected you get slightly more than that with the almost 3 Ghz you have. Right now I can run TF2(on an empty server) at about 10 fps with the following specs:
AMD Athlon 1.27 Ghz
Radeon 9700 PRO
1 GB Ram
Windows XP
