I was making backups before I reinstalled my computer, and I noticed this when I was restoring everything:

How does this happen? The folders work normally without error?
The top one is from the future?
Was your old installation in another language?
Also, do a dir on that folder..

Does the date affect whether it can be named twice or not?

No, it was in english.
Go into each folder and check the properties of any random file, I'll bet one of the "My Documents" has a real folder name of "Documents". Here's what I mean:

Yup, thats it. :ms:
One is a hardlink created by Vista and 7, pointing to %userprofile%\Documents. The other is the real mydocs folder. The hardlink isn't preserved when copying to another location, so it appears are a new folder.
