As today's science progress, it seems like we are getting closer and closer to finding out the secrets of longevity, although its still pretty far. But I know that there are people saying that doing so, we are 'playing god' and it will spell all sorts of disasters and diseases, and they will attempt to stop such research. I don't understand, but what these people are doing is simply helping people, and these people simply just wants to stop it. I think its ridiculous how they don't consider the money and resources being wasted all because of their dumb ideologies.
I think finding the secret to long life is a good thing. My uncle is a very successful allergist, owns 20 some offices in the MD/PA area. His hobby is this very topic. He's on the right track too.
We have free will for a reason, if we can find a method to live long lives, let's do it.
Chances are we won't find out in our lifetime, which is why i'm doing this.

Ill put money in a bank account tied into this company, let the money build up over however long it takes to revive a human body, and be a rich motherfucker. I'm surprised it costs about $110,000 instead of millions.
Long life is great, but there will be a massive population problem. You can only have a long life if you don't have kids.

It better work.[/QUOTE]
You're badly informed, the technology has been described to be only about 20 years off (Nanotechnology that is)
Any significant increase in human lifespan must also be accompanied by fast advances in space travel. The bare fact is that this planet only has a finite amount of resources. The explosive population growth that will result from this will far outstrip supply - the only solution is to start stripmining asteroids.

So in 20 years nanobots will keep us from dieing of old age? That's far fetched. Ageing is caused by a gene, nanobots have no influence over it.

that money could go to a multitude of more worthwhile things
like your loved ones. or charities. or the government.

Read what the site says, it even states your bank account will stay active and build up interest even after you get frozen.
I will still give money to loved ones, or charities.

that isn't how quoting works either
and compound interest isn't some magical thing that makes you a millionaire if you leave it for years. you have to factor in inflation.

I typed in something afterward. I know inflation and all that will bring it down, but oh well, still doing it.
The "playing god" argument is stupid. If God didn't want us to play God, then he wouldn't give us the materials to do so, now would he?

He probably did it on purpose. If and when we get a little too far in advancement, he'd send an asteroid or some disaster that'd set us back 20 years.

an asteroid would set us back a mere 20 years?

The trust fund is only meant to cover the costs of thawing. Also, the money is charged as an extra on your insurance.

Sorry, I threw out a number. It would most likely be much, much, MUCH more than that.
imo living for excessively long periods of times comes with a lot of problems, but at the same time is a nice thing to have
