I tried the game and I personally don't like it, from the graphics to the gameplay it is very weak and boring..... even in online.
People have a tendency to think that games using PhysX will always work better on Nvidia systems, even when 98% of the time it runs on the CPU and not the GPU.
Why deny it? Nvidia is the master race of cards.

The point of PhysX is that it offloads the physics calculations from the CPU to a CUDA card. Or a PPU, but very very few games support a dedicated PPU.

Wasn't it because Nvidia phased out the PPU years ago? i thought the drivers nolonger supported it.

I'm not sure about the drivers, but an actual PPU hasn't been sold in years. Not sure if a second card is still usable as a PPU, but it was up until recently.

That's really not true. Sure it does support CUDA/GPU acceleration.
But my point is that it's just a physics engine nowadays, a shit ton of games use it, and most of the games by far do not involve the GPU in the equation.
PhysX most commonly runs entirely on the CPU, even on Nvidia systems!
Don't worry guys, they're only slightly mad.
Its probably largely up to AMD choosing to not release a driver for this game.

Games that properly utilize PhysX use GPU acceleration though. Ones that use PhysX effects, not just as a physics engine.

The Batman: Arkham and Metro series are two that come to mind that actually use PhysX effects and hence support GPU acceleration.

This is what I am seeing a lot of people saying, kinda disappointed (but not surprised).

it was removed from driver support and no game has supported it for awhile.
also the poor performance on amd is because radeon have not released a driver update to help with Pcars.
they even sent amd keys to the game a year ago iirc.
AMD seem to be the ones who were not interested. they also did this with a few other games in the past.

Yeah, looks like last game to support a PPU was made in '08
I've been a member of WMD since 2012 and I find it strange how that person on Reddit came to that conclusion based on nothing. Hell the PhysX physics in the game is one of the weak points of the game, you hit the wall or another car at just the right angle and it'll glitch out.

Graphics, really? Looks really good.

Dunno about the other platforms but on PS4 it doesn't have V sync and some textures are low quality. Everything else is good though.

Why would a console version need vsync? It's not running over 60fps.

Haven't played it yet but PC I'd assume would support all that. Doubt it's going to be much better if any on an Xbox tho

There is quite obvious tearing on the screen when moving in the pit lane. Ask the developers about that.
Project cars started out nice. A simple cone-based track, and a normal every day car.
Then it devolved into cancerous super cars and race cars. The market is so fucking saturated with games that only feature supers and race cars. I said it once i'll say it again: I want a fucking racing game that features normal shitbox cars i'll have a chance seeing in my life.

That's pretty shit.

It has the road versions of the Lancer Evo, Mercedes A series, BMW 1 series and Renault Megane.
it has a bunch of road legal track day cars, i dont think you could really expect it to go the forza/gt route they didnt have the budget to model that many cars in the quality they do plus there would have been a ton of bitching about the cars they choose to include. if you want a game where you can race pretty much anything get a second hand ps3 and gt5/6
AMD needs to step up their game if they want to compete again

The first car in the game was a Lotus 49, and the first track was Watkins Glen. You must be thinking of something completely different. This was never a game about road cars.

Huh, i guess I might be. Any ideas?
