So I've been searching round for a new keyboard, looking at Logitech's new one, but I figure I don't really need an LCD screen, nor many macro keys, if any at all.
I've been looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823239006 because of the back lighting and the game pad. Mostly I'm looking for a keyboard with back lighting, because I tend to play in the dark a lot. Other than that the only other things that has caught my eye is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823175104. I'm mostly using this for FPSs and Garry's mod. Thanks in advance.
To be perfectly honest with you, from what i've heard the Saitek Eclipse isn't too great. I advise you go for the Saitek Cyborg, it's a great keyboard and superior to the Eclipse in my opinion.

The first one probably only has white lighting and the second doesn't even have backlighting
Are you looking for a standard keyboard, an ergonomic, a wave or something like that? It looks like just a standard by the two you posted.
The first one probably only has white lighting and the second doesn't even have backlighting
Right, but keyboards posted in OP looks like shit

I like that one. But what's that little knob at the upper right hand corner?
[editline]04:04PM[/editline]
Volume?
Yep
Just get any keyboard, there is nothing really complicated that you need (mice need good laser tracking etc) but a keyboard is really just a bunch of buttons

Antighosting, macro keys, media keys, volume control, etc, theres a lot I care about in a keyboard.

OP look at the sidewinder x6 if you don't mind thinner keys http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-AGB-00001-SideWinder-X6-Keyboard/dp/B001DWI4FM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281730151&sr=8-1
or the G11 if you do http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Keyboard-Black-Silver/dp/B000GP844S/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281730165&sr=8-6
I say get the Cyborg if you can afford it or get the Eclipse II
[editline]04:12PM[/editline]
G11 and Sidewinder X6 are good too

I don't need to press 10 keys at once and also most keyboard come with media keys.
I have macro keys on my g15, only really useful for some starcraft2 hotkeys.
Just saying that 'gamer keyboards' are really dumb and overpriced for what you get.

I know they don't look like much, but they both have mechanical switches. Read this article.

The G15 and all razer keyboards have shitty rubber domes.
Not to mention the g15 and razer look like ricer keyboards made from 13 year olds.
Anyone have an opinion on the Sidewinder X6? I have a friend who can get it for me really cheap.
Anyone have an opinion on the Sidewinder X6? I have a friend who can get it for me really cheap.
no it sucks ass get a mechanical
Don't fall for the mechanical bandwagon
no it sucks ass get a mechanical
Besides that. Or him in general.
Get the Sidewinder if you can get it for cheap-
Don't fall for the mechanical bandwagon
and you just sunk to an all new low
Don't fall for the mechanical bandwagon
It's not a bandwagon, they are just better. Rubber domes have nothin on buckling springs dawg
and you just sunk to an all new low
Mechanical is a matter of opinion
[editline]04:43PM[/editline]
I personally think they're too expensive for what they offer
[editline]04:44PM[/editline]

opinion isn't the same as bandwagon
and you mean they aren't ricer enough for you
[editline]09:45PM[/editline]
automerge proved my point
Mechanical is a matter of opinion
no, it's a fact they are better. They made rubber domes because they are cheaper, they offer no improvement over mechanical switches.
opinion isn't the same as bandwagon

Yes actually
Sometimes ricer isn't so bad
Anyone know a way to kill a keyboard that seems like I didn't purposely do it?
