Bus ads many believe are anti-Muslim have roared into San Francisco. The campaign, sponsored by the American Freedom Defense Initiative
(AFDI), includes one running on 10 of the city's Muni buses with an image of Osama bin Laden, the burning twin towers and the tagline, “That’s his jihad. What’s yours?”
The ads supposedly quote from extremists. One attributes a statement from the militant group Hamas, which reads: "Killing Jews is worship that brings us closer to Allah."
AFDI had beat back an attempt by New York City’s transit authority to block a similar campaign in that city’s subway system. Comparable ads have run in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
San Francisco officials have condemned the campaign, but they have allowed them to run. The $5,000 the group paid to Muni will go to the Human Rights Commission to study discrimination against the Islamic community, according to the city.

Why can't people just understand that other's beliefs will be different from theres, and accept that difference is a part of life.
uhg.
Being dicks to people you don't like, the trend that never goes out of style!
Didn't the Koran actually say to respect other beliefs because they believed in the same god in the end, albeit under different names?

It also says to put nonbelievers to the sword.
But then again, the bible says the same stuff - love them, kill them, love them, kill them.

That is sadly enough true.
But given that their contents got changed throughout the ages, I am somewhat curious what it orginally said.
I live in SF and I haven't seen a single one of these ads yet.

I don't believe the Koran has changed all that much. It's still in the same language. Most likely the language has evolved to a certain degree, but it's a far cry from going to Aramaic to Latin to German to Dutch to English to revised English edition #23,058.
Old picture showing contradictions in the bible. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the Koran is the same way.

Nice.

Burning stupid signs
Nice.
They should put a sign underneath them that says where the money went though. The PR disaster is going to cost them more than $5k if they don't.
A Muslim group run these ads

And the response is

And we're supposed to think the Muslim group are the bad guys
[editline]14th March 2013[/editline]
Imagine if the Muslim group ran ads linking Catholicism to pedophilia, there would be a fucking outrage, shut down everything etc

I believe the "American Freedom Defense Initiative" is literally composed of military contractors and lobbyists. War profiteers, essentially. They have much to gain from Americans having irrational hatred of Muslims, because it means there will be less resistance starting wars with them. At least that's what I'd guess based on the name of the group.

Actually the Quran is written in Classic Arabic and hasn't changed at all since the 7th century.
It's funny because jihad in arabic just means struggle for a greater good, nothing to do with religion. I hate how its been bastardised in english. Sucks for quite a few poor schmucks named Jihad.

They run a program called "Stop Islamization of America".
They're downright loonieballs - and as a bonus have been named a hate group by the SPLC.

Only Abrahamic religions worship the same God; Jews, Christians, and Muslims. They basically have the same beliefs except for a few societal and stuff about the canon (Jews don't think Jesus has anything to do with God; Christians think Jesus is God's 'son'; Muslims think Jesus is just a prophet of God). They are all literally just different editions of the same damn thing. Jews came first, then Christians, then shortly after Muslims.

All of the Abrahamic religions are quite schizophrenic when it comes to heretics and general non-believers.

There's a girl in my class with that name. She said she's been almost killed for it post 9/11. Nobody ever thought about it pre-9/11.
America's government may not be setting up for the new Reicht, but the news corporations and groups like the "American Freedom Defense Initiative" are certainly setting up our next generation to be 100% ok with setting the US's goal to "Destroy Islam because Jesus and they hate Jesus."
Why is this being rated winner?
It's fucking retarded to the point I think the organization that's doing it is just doing so for their own laughs. No one could actually make a statement that ignorant unless it's on purpose, I'd think.
Then again, it might just be their actual view.
No! dont believe their stupid extremist discriminating religion! BELIEVE OUR STUPID EXTREMIST RELIGION (or beliefs...).

Funny because we have a guy in Parliament that basically says the same thing ''Stop Islamization of the Netherlands.''

Muhammad's did, but after the Age of Omar, everything got real fucked up.
Also, the Bible wasn't formally written by Jesus, or Abe, or anyone in it. It was written by Medieval clergymen, copied from the documents of the Torah and the writings of the Disciples. Which is why there is so much contradiction in there.

This really makes me mad.
Can someone post that red image of the dude's face being really mad or whatever for me? I don't have it.

A lot of those quotes were directed at the pagan tribes that were trying to kill all Muslims back then though

I have Redman being sorta mad, if that helps:
People take those quotes out of context, the Koran does state that you should kill unbelievers, but if you'd look in what context they were being stated you'd understand that those were directed at the Pagan tribes that were trying to kill all Muslims at that time
what the koran says is pretty unimportant because almost no muslim uses just the koran as the basis for their morals or virtues

you can do both
