i was looking around new releases on imdb and I dug up this little gem http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1323045/ my synopsis (haven't seen it):This is the story of 3 friends who decide to go skiing on a Sunday, I won't spoil much but, while riding the ski-lift, the mentally challenged son of the lift worker decides that closing time is now and turns off the lift while the aforementioned friends were on it, at the moment in time they are 50 feet above the ground. Trailer "actual" synopsis:A typical day on the slopes turns into a chilling nightmare for three snowboarders when they get stranded on the chairlift before their last run. As the ski patrol switches off the night lights, they realize with growing panic that theyve been left behind dangling high off the ground with no way down. With the resort closed until the following weekend and frostbite and hypothermia already setting in, the trio is forced to take desperate measures to escape off the mountain before they freeze to death. Once they make their move, they discover with horror that they have much more to fear than just the frigid cold. As they combat unexpected obstacles, they start to question if their will to survive is strong enough to overcome the worst ways to die. I have not seen this film. The film is out in selected theaters NOW (you know you want to see it). Do you whatever it is you did to get Paranormal Activity into your local cinema and go see Frozen! Watching a movie about 3 people stuck in a ski-lift for 5 days, what more could you ask for?! [sp]i read that they all get eaten by wolves at the end no joke[/sp]
Definitely going to watch this thing.
imdb link ? I am intrigued.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1323045/ added to OP
I liked the part where they get stuck on a chairlift.
I liked the part where they get stuck on a chairlift.
me 2!
Jump! Jump! Jump!!!
Jump! Jump! Jump!!!
Watch the trailer, somebody does towards the end. i read a comment on imdb where somebody said they should've tied their clothes together and made a rope to climb down.
should've tied their clothes together and made a rope to climb down.
I'll be thinking of this throughout the entire movie.
They could put their snowboards on top of the rail, hold on to either side of them and slide James Bond style. Or they could just not go skiing at night.
[sp]i read that they all get eaten by wolves at the end no joke[/sp]
[sp]I heard the girl survives though[/sp]
Saw a preview of this on another site. Looks terrible. How fucking stupid do you have to be to just sit on the damn chairlift for days like "Oh fuck we are screwed!" And unless they were on the backside of whatever mountain they were on, it would be stupid simple to leave. I can't like this movie. The idea sucks. And whatever critic said that this movie is like Jaws but for skiing is fucking stupid.
Ahh a cheap horror movie.. Nothing better..
Jesus it's like Black Water or Open Water or that one where everyone jumps off the boat and can't get back on. They all fucking sucked.
It's kinda like Paranormal Activity. In the sense that both movies sucked and yet people liked them.
It's like the American version of the Norwegian movie "Fritt Vilt".
Sounds like a stupid concept with no storyline at all. Sorry, its only a matter of opinion.
Sounds like a stupid concept with no storyline at all. Sorry, its only a matter of opinion.
An opinion that the majority of people who read about this movie will share with you.
Apposed :smug:
I wonder what plot device stopped them from climbing down the cable. Those things are thick, you could have gotten up top and shimmied down if you aren't able to hand-over-hand it.
I'm going to give this the benefit of the doubt because I'm interested to see what they do with it. Many filmmakers know that a large percent of todays audiences are complete idiots, Just take a look at the tooth fairy, its a fucking TERRIBLE movie but people still go and see it and far too many like it.
And not one of them had a thing called a cellphone?
Yah know, I thought landing on snow from that height would be alright if you just like, landed properly.
Tips for when you jump off a snowlift: 1. Be sure to land feet first, this is important so that your entire bit of your legs can absorb the fall 2. Make sure your legs are stiff, even more of the fall will be absorbed. 3. Wait 3 days before you try to jump off the snowlift, and in this 3 days, repeatedly say "Oh fuck we're gonna die"
4. While waiting for the right time to jump, remember to clench onto the rail for dear life.
Damnit, why did you put in the ending using spoiler tags!? Those black boxes look so clickable... Now, i ruined it all because of that, just don't write the ending at all... :(
needs more frozen appreciation
Heh. Shawn Ashmore is in this and he played Iceman in the X-Men movies.
Although it may seem like a silly concept, I'm interested to see how this film pans out. I just hope they don't spend the majority of it freezing their arses off on the chair lift.
