"Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave," said Ken Shupe of Shupee Max Towing in Traveler's Rest, S.C. "And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed." Motorist Cassy McWade says she was in a car accident, and the family called their regular mechanic to drive about 45 minutes north in order to tow her home to Traveler's Rest from the side of the Interstate. He wasn't able to make the trip, so McWade says he called Shupe. He arrived after about an hour and began the process of towing the vehicle. "He goes around back and comes back and says 'I can't tow you.' My first instinct was there must be something wrong with the car," McWade told WLOS on Wednesday. "And he says, 'No, you're a Bernie supporter.' And I was like wait, really? And he says, 'Yes ma'am,' and just walks away."

McWade, 25, has psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and early-stage Crohns, which she said made sitting on the side of the road without a restroom nearby was "terrifying." She is legally disabled and says the handicapped placard was hanging on her mirror when Shupe arrived.

"I stand by my decision, and I would do it again today if the opportunity presented itself."
i don't even know if i should feel shocked that he's so smug about it, what a horrible thing to do
The title kinda makes it sound like she was trapped in the vehicle, though i'm glad that was not the case.
"Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave," said Ken Shupe of Shupee Max Towing in Traveler's Rest, S.C. "And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed."
If the lord truly spoke to you he would've told you to show some compassion and help the scared, disabled woman, ya wank.
Please fire this idiot
Pathetic that people base decision on whether or not to help others based on their political views.
Pathetic that people base decision on whether or not to help others based on their political views.
It's truly retarded.
Please fire this idiot
"The side of my truck says "Shupe" not, "Freebie" in another video posted by ABC 7. He appears to be the owner of the business, thus legal action should be in order for discrimination. We did not privatize the towing industry for this precise reason. He had a legal duty to uphold and failed. This is like saying "No colored customers" allowed.
Pathetic that people base decision on whether or not to help others based on their political views.
And apparently religious views I wonder if this was the first incident he's done something like this at, if not I'm amazed he got to launch his company in the first place and should probably have more fittingly named it "Epiphany-Shupe's Trump Tow" tbh
Wow how can someone be so horri-
Shupe, who supports presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump
ooh. makes sense now.
Next week's tabloid cover story.
"God admits telling tow truck driver to leave customer; says driver doesn't understand obvious sarcasm"
Only in America is reality weirder than grocery store tabloids.
"There's something came over and I think the lord came to me and he just said get the truck and leave." -The God and Bernie-fearing tow trucker. [editline]6th May 2016[/editline] That's pretty golden though. I have a certain appreciation and respect for the tow trucker.
Ah, yes, the Almighty Creator of the Universe and All The Other Stuff As Well speaks to me all the time, too. He tells me to flush baby wipes down the toilets, to stick it to that liberal sewer system, and it totally makes perfect sense. We prophets, we microphones of God, we who are given divine fucking writ, are often told to do insanely stupid shit rather than anything approaching what an outsider might think that, y'know, an Omniscient being might actually tell somebody to do. It's just the way He operates.
What an utter piece of shit. [editline]6th May 2016[/editline] Alternatively, the man needs to be sectioned and get some psychiatric help
If the lord truly spoke to you he would've told you to show some compassion and help the scared, disabled woman, ya wank.
Nah Jesus cares more about putting his hand into the election game Trump/Jesus 2016
reminds me of The Nut Job on the AM dial talking about dinosaurs lived with humans and that they coexisted in the Garden of Eden. and that history was being hidden from people who killed Jesus or some shit. If you want to entertain the idea http://www.icr.org/men-dinosaurs/ http://www.apologeticspress.org/apcontent.aspx?category=9&article=2416 apparently they don't believe in carbon dating.
He believes Bernie Sanders supporters are socialists, and says he's had problems with two customers over the last six months who supported Bernie Sanders. He said they caused him problems over paying their bills. "I've had some horrible experiences in the last six months with towing cars for this mindset individuals, in that I don't get paid. They want to argue about a $50 tow bill, and it turns into just a drama and a fuss. And I said, you know, I'm not going to associate with them, and I'm not going to do any business with them," Shupe said.
If 2 customers in the span of 6 months is an overwhelming amount of people to argue with, he must not be getting all that much business in the first place. He could've saved himself from a fruitless trip and from leaving her stranded had he merely asked that over the phone when she called him for help and told her right there and then that he wouldn't tow the car, then she'd instead call someone else to help her. But I'm sure he wouldn't be getting all too much business if whenever you called them he'd pry for your political stances instead of just doing his goddamn job.
Anyone that uses 'a voice of god' as a legitimate reason for anything needs to go into a fuckin nut house as far as I'm concerned.
Had this guy never heard of the Good Samaritan story or something?
"Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave," said Ken Shupe of Shupee Max Towing in Traveler's Rest, S.C. "And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed."
So not only did God tell you to leave a scared disabled woman all by her lonesome on the side of the road, you also did it because you've had problems with TWO Sanders supporters in SIX months. and you feel good about it. You unbelievable piece of garbage.

If "I fuck my sister on a regular basis" had a face.
Seen this story all over facebook but the titles never mention the woman was disabled and god told him to do it. Beliefs are weird
As we all know, Jesus hates poor people, disabled people, charity, and people who disagree with him. He also loves rich people and those who use religion to make a profit. "Turn the other way," I think he said? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what he said.
There goes all his business, how stupid is he? Does he not realize the entire internet is going to tear him apart?
What a cunt.
I like how this country was founded on the ideas of men like Voltaire with "I may not like what you have to say but I will fight to the death for your right to say it." and now it's being drowned out by idiots going IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT GEEEET OUT.
Fucking Christians. (User was banned for this post ("shitposting/trolling" - Gurant))
There goes all his business, how stupid is he? Does he not realize the entire internet is going to tear him apart?
My guess is most of his business isn't on the internet, and stranded people don't have much choice even if they somehow recognize him.
I don't think he literally meant it as "I heard god and he told me to not do this". The way his words are put, it sounds like it was just an "overcoming of consciousness/realization" that he's attributing, in his own words, "I think" to god. But of course we take the "omg religious nuts" course as FP will always do. [editline]6th May 2016[/editline]
Fucking Christians.
No where in the article does it say he's a Christian. Though it's highly probable, your post is offensive.
