Hey facepunch. So a few hours ago i bought a Verbatim "Store n go" portable Hard Drive, but the problem is that when i plug it into my PC running windows 7 its just beeping and not showing up anywhere. Now, the thing is i tried it on another 8 year old XP computer and it worked just fine. I tried formatting it from FAT32 to NTFS and it still does not work. The USB port works fine as i have tested it with other things. Its a slow beep but sometimes it goes fast, also when i get my ear up close i can hear clicking just after the beep. What should i do?
Is it a 2.5" Laptop external harddrive or a Full fledged 3.5" with power adapter and so forth.

I was recovering the data off a clients harddrive before, and it made the most awful grinding noise to man. At one point, it sounded like the actuator collapsed onto the platters and the drive started to beep in agony. I would go get that drive repleased. And LOL at Verbatim, I am surprised they're still around. I thought they went into the wind with the floppy and magnetic tape.
