It's over, we're all doomed: Jeff Goldblum unlikely to be in 'Jurassic World'
There is no denying that Dr. Ian Malcolm, Goldblum’s character from Jurassic Park and The Lost World, was one of the fan favorites in regards to characters. Unfortunately, it is unlikely at this point that we will see him once again in Jurassic World.
Why, you may ask? Well, according to an interview the actor did with The Huffington Post, he has not been contacted about the film; however, he did say that he was perfectly happy with the two films he did appear in.
No, nobody asked me, but I was perfectly satisfied with the two that I did. I’m still satisfied with that and I’ll be the first in line to see anything else, so, you know.”
Jeff Goldblum is a good actor imo. Shame to see he isn't a part of this movie.
Life, uh... finds a way.
Too bad. I do really like his character. Regardless, I am so freaking hyped for this. Dinosaurs, I feel, is one of those subjects that others may try, but will never have the same success that Jurassic Park had. I just hope World doesn't fail miserably.
Didn't Sam Neil also say that he wasn't approached to be in the movie? If they're not having either of them, will the be having any of the original cast in the new movie? Who? Maybe an adult Tim? (The kid who played him apparently turned out to be a great actor in other works, but I've never seen any of them so I don't know for sure).
I mean, if they're going to have a completely new cast for this movie, that's just going to lower my hopes for this movie being good even further.
That's chaos theory.
Lets use Tommy Wiseau instead.

I think bringing back Joseph Mazzello (Tim) would be a heaps good choice. They could easily work his character into it.
Or, they could start out by not having a terrible plot like JP3 had, and it will work out regardless of any actors/characters making a comeback.
They will never get a classic like the first one,ive read the book and the movie was excellent, imo they shouldnt make another one.

Since the project was in development hell for 10 years, it's unlikely to have again such a shitty script like JP3 had.
Without Goldblum, what's the point?
I think it's odd that (Jurassic Park novel spoilers) [sp]Ian Malcolm even made it out of the first film considering he died at the end of the book[/sp].

wait.. If I remember correctly Malcolm was the main character in the Jurassic park novels.
Havent read them in over 5 years mind you
None of the original cast... I feel as though this will be a big let down.
What the hell happened to Goldblum anyway? He hasn't been in any movies in years.

how different the Dino's will be for this one is crazy, probably going to do avatar and just CGI everything too bad though since the first had top notch animatronics

It just won't be the same without him.

He died in the first book, then when Crichton wrote The Lost World, he basically went "Yeah actually Ian Malcolm didn't die after all, isn't that lucky?" and made him the protagonist instead of Grant.
I remember in the third movie (?) where the get hunted buy velos and one of them actually makes a car sound.

That's pretty unlikely in this case. I'm sure the makers know that they shouldn't rely on CGI too much.

Yeah. The second book pretty much starts with Malcolm giving a lecture, leaning on a cane from his T-Rex injuries, saying "Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated."
edit: And the first book doesn't actually say Malcolm dies. It just heavily implies it. Malcolm becomes delierious from shock, babbles about paradigm shifts, says "Because everything looks different on the other side," and smiles. After that, he's not mentioned again, and you're led to think he's dead.
Edit 2: And before anyone says "God damn, spoiler that shit!," the book's 24 years old.

that logic is retarded

Gulliver's Travels is over 200 years old and there are still people who have never read it and still might want to without anyone spoiling plot points beforehand. what's your excuse?

Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father.
Rosebud is the sled.
Soylent Green is people.
The butler did it.
Sorry for ruining everything, people.

You forgot "it was earth all along".

Noted.
Also, Bruce Willis was dead the whole time, and Sigourney Weaver got a chestburster implanted in cryosleep. And Jenny died of AIDS.
Edit: Back on topic, what the hell happened to Laura Dern? She did a few things after Jurrassic Park (I remember she was in A Perfect World with Tommy Lee Jones and Kevin Costner), but then, she kinda dropped off the face of the earth. Apart from her cameo as Ellie Sattler in JP 3, I haven't seen much out of her.
