Neat, I still need to play through these.
Storywise is Liberty City Stories my absolute favorite from the old GTA series.
Sweet, I had both on my PSP, but neither the games nor the PSP work anymore. It'd be great to play them on a TV.
Were they just PSP ports of the game or were they their own games?
Were they just PSP ports of the game or were they their own games?
They were their own entries into the series. GTA: LCS taking place just before GTA3 and GTA: VCS taking place just before VC I believe.
Too bad these never released for PC. [editline]29th March 2013[/editline]
Were they just PSP ports of the game or were they their own games?
What hex said, and they were on the PS2.
Never played either of these as I didn't have a PSP and haven't even used my PS2 in years. A shame that I don't have, nor could I get a PS3 or a PSP/Vita anytime soon. Regardless, kinda sucks that they never made San Andreas Stories.
Storywise is Liberty City Stories my absolute favorite from the old GTA series.
Yeah, it had the whole italian mafia element down to a T.
These are both fantastic games, LCS is better than GTAIII and VCS may not be as great as Vice City but it's still a damn fun game. Building and managing my criminal empire was a pleasure.

If they tried to make a San Andreas Stories, the PSP would have probably self-destructed or something. I still agree though, I was really hoping for a San Andreas Stories to be released after playing these two.
They were their own entries into the series. GTA: LCS taking place just before GTA3 and GTA: VCS taking place just before VC I believe.
I would say VCS was a year or two before VC. The mall wasn't even built yet.
There is actually a GTA SA mod being worked on that is a total conversion to be exactly like VCS, mission, cutscenes, everything. So we may get the game on PC after all. http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=439980
I would say VCS was a year or two before VC. The mall wasn't even built yet.
It's confirmed to take place in 1984, two years before VC in '86. I've never seen a total conversion for any GTA game completed, with the exception of GTA: Liberty City which may or may not be finished by its ten-year anniversary. Still, it's impressive what the community can do without official SDKs or any real support.
I wonder if they will have the multiplayer online? I never had anyone to play with.
Just bought a new PSP (who buys the Vita?), so not a necessary purchase to me, but nice they're coming out for the PS3.
I would love another GTA set in Vice City. Both games set in Vice City just have that vibe that feels so awesome
I would love another GTA set in Vice City. Both games set in Vice City just have that vibe that feels so awesome
Who doesn't?
I loved Vice City Stories I fucking hated the forklift warehouse mission though. [editline]sad[/editline] this shit
I would say VCS was a year or two before VC. The mall wasn't even built yet.
VCS is 1984, VC is 1986, LCS is 1999, III is 2001.
Storywise is Liberty City Stories my absolute favorite from the old GTA series.
Don't forget the badass theme.
I wonder if they will have the multiplayer online? I never had anyone to play with.
Only the PSP versions had multiplayer and it wasn't even online. These will probably be just the PS2 versions which had no online features.
How are these games in terms of controls? More like III/Vice City or more like San Andreas? The camera and aiming annoyed me in the older games. Also how are PS2 ports on the PSN Store in general?
How are these games in terms of controls? More like III/Vice City or more like San Andreas? The camera and aiming annoyed me in the older games.
They both play pretty much identical as Vice City, only differences are in VCS, where melee combat is a bit expanded, you can sprint with all guns and you can swim.
Also how are PS2 ports on the PSN Store in general?
Usually pretty good, although there are some that have issues rendering certain things (Persona 3 FES and reflective materials on some models, for example) They run exactly on the same resolution as they do on the PS2, so you'll hardly notice any visual improvement. There's a weird postprocess option that's supposed to smooth it to make it look good upscaled, which looks weird on most 3D games, but at least adds some form of anti-aliasing. In short, they're neat, but definitely won't blow anyone away.
How about Chinatown Wars next? Bring it to the PC as well for that matter.
Don't forget the badass theme.
I played the hell out of this game and don't remember the theme at all, what the hell. It's amazing
I played the hell out of this game and don't remember the theme at all, what the hell. It's amazing
it would play on the PSP menu over and over and over again
