Hey, I've had a problem since I bought my Insignia TV where green pixels show up in certain areas where it's dark. It looks a lot like this; http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/7914/dsc03885z.jpg except it's not as bad at all. It's still very noticeable, though. I'm using VGA to connect my PC to the monitor, if that has to do with it for some reason. Is there a fix or anything?
Check your VGA cable, it could be damaged. When there was a pin bent in my male DVI cable, it caused dark areas to be pink.

ahaha oh my god the pun was unintended I swear
I checked the pins, and they're all fine. I also tried using an HDMI cable instead, but when I change the display to HDMI output 1 it just shows black and then says 'no display'
It could be a defect with the display or it could be a problem with the cable. If you're using a poor quality VGA cable (you can usually tell because they're real thin) it can cause signal degradation and artifacts on the screen. Good VGA cables will be really fat due to having a ton of shielding in them.
But I've also seen those artifacts on failing or defective displays as well so I can't tell you definitively what the problem is.
