It's even possible that the heart of a black hole is single point of infinitely small size, containing the mass of many stars” -UniverseToday.com “there must have been an instant in time (now known to be about 14 billion years ago) when the entire Universe was contained in a single point in space” -NASA No one knows what a black holes lead to, or if it even leads to anything at all. Theories range from nothing, to whole other universes. This theory a Multiverse Theory. The Multiverse theory in laymen’s terms is that each black hole is a connection into another universe. A commonly accepted theory is that black holes simply obliterate anything that enters them, this is a direct violation of The Law of Conservation of Matter, which states that matter cannot be created nor destroyed, but rather, changes its form. What happens to matter that enters this black hole? According to the Multiverse theory, this matter becomes the, “Big Bang” of another universe. Think about it, what is the basic idea of the Big Bang? It was that there was an incredible dense point, in which all matter of our universe expanded out of. Now what is a black hole? A black hole is a star that’s gravity is so immense that it has collapsed on itself, but where does this stars matter go? Black holes are invisible because a black hole is known as a singularity, where its gravity is so strong, not even light can escape. It’s said that light is the fastest speed achievable by anything in the universe, this is why black holes are so peculiar, but another instance of achieving a speed higher than the speed of light is the inflationary phase of the big bang, where the universe expanded form a factor of 10^20 to 10^30 in just of a second. The Universe was made from a singularity that turned into what we know as, “The Big Bang” The question on most scientists head is, where did this singularity come from? The answer, according to this theory is the black hole of another universe
I once heard you can never reach the center of a black hole, because the mass distorts time and it takes infinity for you to reach the middle of it.
Eudoxia, my you have changed! This is a pretty weak theory with no factual evidence to back it up, at least as far as you have explained it. The most compelling evidence we have for a Multiversal system is the Many Worlds interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. Black holes are just very dense stars. The singularity has a finite mass, and does not break the fabric of spacetime - just distorts it a fair bit. Black holes have nothing to do with the big bang.
Might want to note that the whole 'black holes are whole universes' theory is only one part of the multiverse theory. There are a whole lot more ways to explain multiple universes. Kade: You get one agree for making those points before me. Science, It's just all crazy ideas that a bunch of scientists thought up about on their latest peyote trip.
It's a baseless theory, so a lot of scientists don't like it, actually. The reason it stands is because you can run simulations of this on a super computer and it'll run perfectly, but there is no empirical evidence.
Yo momma's so fat that when she fell over, she collapsed and turned from supernova to black hole
We should just send someone in to one with a two way radio and they can tell us what's in there. Yeah that should work.
We should just send someone in to one with a two way radio and they can tell us what's in there. my mind has not yet been blown by your thread.
They need a "THIS THREAD WILL NOT TEACH YOU ANYTHING" logo for shit like this
This wouldn't make much sense then... For if anything that goes into a black hole ends up in a different universe, then you'd have a LOT of universes, and what about OUR universe? if stuff is going into the black hole which made this universe, wouldn't there be heaps of matter pouring into this universe? This theory is too loose... However i do support the multiverse theory.
I'd much prefer a single, infinite universe, simply because of how awesome probabality becomes. In an infinite universe ( And lets [almost surly incorrectly] assume ours is) then you could just point in any direction, and in that exact direction there is an exact copy of you on an exact copy of earth pointing back at you. There would also be an elephant with family issues, an alien typing this post and a monkey juggeling beer bottles on a unicycle. It's just so much more awesome than multiverse.
I once heard you can never reach the center of a black hole, because the mass distorts time and it takes infinity for you to reach the middle of it.
You'll be crushed up molecule by molecule before you can even start traveling through it.
Who cares about this stuff anyway? How's it going to help us with our problems?

Does it mean that in another universe an exact copy of me is being loved? :smith:
Who cares about this stuff anyway? How's it going to help us with our problems?
You'd find that a lot of discoveries that seem to be completely irrelevant that have been used to help our everyday lives. And some people are just really curious about these things.
This theory actually kind of makes sense. I thought maybe we had parallel universes but I'm not sure what to believe anymore.
Does it mean that in another universe an exact copy of me is being loved? :smith:
It means there's a Universe where every FPer is being loved :smith: However, an infinite number of Universes means that, at least in one of them, the Combine exist. And if the Combine exist, that means they can dig into other dimensions, and if they can dig into other dimensions, that means they can find us :gonk:
Does it mean that in another universe an exact copy of me is being loved? :smith:
I love you :sympathy:
Hawkin's theory is that there are both negative and positive charges. The negative is sucked into the hole and possible spit out on the other side of the black whole (white) whereas the positive charge is disposed and radiates around the black hole until it eventually consumes itself. The white hole leading into a different universe, IE our big bang and universe / a reverse flushing toilet.
This multiverse theory reminds me of the "it's turtles all the way down" theory.
I love you :sympathy:
Rated hearts. And that turtles thing is kind of interesting.

Also the Multiverse is ten times as cool because at this moment there are an infinite number of monkeys on unicycles exactly where your standing. It's funny because in the multiverse there are technically an infinite amount of humans yet we are the minority. An infinite thing is smaller then another infinite thing.....:psyduck:

How's it going to help us with our problems?
Well, there is a theory that if you throw anything into a black hole that pure energy may shoot back out. I wish I could find the link, however they believe that this might be an energy source to harvest in the future
but it doesnt just obliterate everything that enters a black hole, it is mushed up and stuff, yes, but there are streams of matter and energy coming from black holes
I love you :sympathy:
I love you too :unsmith:
But can you explain how a giraffe is a miracle?
