What was the reason that the last "Ask Us About the Forums" thread was closed?
I'm fairly sure it isn't just me that has seen a slowdown over the last two weeks.
It's not just your obvious "pages take forever to load" crap. Pages will load but tasks such as posting or editing seem to take forever. Ratings sometimes take five to ten seconds to register and every so often you can't even retrieve a users event log.
Supposedly the LMAO Pics Thread was dragging down the server but Garry closed that so what is making it crawl along now? It doesn't seem to be a DDoS.
Sometimes when I go to the site for the first time in a while it'll show the homepage for a split second then it all gets screwed up.
I've counted nearly 50 seconds for some of my posts to go through. It's a bit ridiculous.

I have only really noticed a significant slowdown whenever I'm trying to submit a post/edit. Everything else seems to be at around average speed (which isn't too fast, either).

oh wow, I thought I was the only one where it took forever for posts to get posted.
Everything is slow for me, takes between ten to thirty seconds for most pages [to load].
I noticed this today, posting is extremely slow, and checking for new posts in a thread is also sometimes slow.

Seriously though, what made you post this? I'm genuinely wondering. You're literally comparing Facepunch to dictatorships.
My post seems to go through, but it won't say so in the page I am posting from. I have to come back from another tab or something to see it.
Some threads open right away for me but some take close to 2 minutes or even more to open. My posts take well over a minute to actually post.

I can browse subforms fine, but when it comes to loading threads or making posts, it slows down quite a bit

The load after posting is the bit that's confusing me. When it happens I can refresh 'read posts' and see that there is a new post in the thread by me, so it's not the actual posting that seems to be the slow down but the loading after it.
Yeah i was wondering why it was taking so long for my post to get posted. or even going into a thread.
Yeah, posting is sluggish. Everything else has been okay for me though.

This one went instantly, oddly.
Today i tried to change my avatar with an animated one but it's currently stuck on the first frame and it doesn't move at all. Has anyone a fix for this?
Didn't garrysmod.org slow down the same time Facepunch started having this problem?

if fp needs to either change the dimensions or the filesize it'll only show the first frame

Wow, it's true. It's literally just loading the page after posting that takes ages. The act of posting is done near instantaneously.

Already checked, it's 77x160 and something around 80 kb.

From what I recall nobody bothered reading the OP and only a fraction of the questions asked were actually good. For example, the thread OP here would be a good question in AUATF, but I mean it still would make the Ask Us About the Forums thread useless.
