I am new to the pc building world but I need a new gaming pc for around $1200, it can be above that price but needs to be under $1400. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hello, I put together a build very similar to mine, if you'd like a GTX 980, you can cut some corners with the CPU cooler, case, storage and or power supply. I threw in the optical drive and OS because you didn't specify if you would like one and if you have an OS or not. Base total: $1384.30
thank you for the help but if i wanted air cooling what would be a good option for this build you recommended?
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xd4YwP Here you go if you want air cooling, very solid cooler but a bitch to install it is pretty massive, I used corsair LP's but you could use any low profile ram you like if you wanted a different brand and I made sure to give you way more psu than you need so you could SLI in the future if you wanted. The WD black really isn't worth the $40 more than the blue, they perform very similar in real life scenarios. As for the case, I just threw one on of moderate price so you can switch that to whatever you like.

I built numerous builds with blacks and blues and have used builds with them and I can tell you from using more than one of them each time that the difference is negligible in most scenarios. So unless you do data intensive things a lot or love the better warranty, the blue is the way to go. It is most definitely not worth the $40 more for the everyday user. If you want something a little faster, but not $40 more, get a barracuda.
