Read before you post.
In a few months' time (April), I, along with a few other facepunchers will be attending a LAN party in Newbury, Berkshire. So, let's cut the shit. Here's a link to the thread with most of the things you will need to know. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=848143
Before I get on with the rules of the competition, I'd like to say a couple of things. I've never spent more than £10 on anyone else (I'm jewish) so this is probably going to be something I will regret doing. I'm going to be spending £72 for one UK Facepuncher ONLY to go to i39. Since I know a lot of you probably won't actually read this post, I'm going to make a condition of entry. Your entry post must include (anywhere in the post) the * character. Without this you are disqualified for life, no second chances. I'm not going to put that in the rules, because the rules are a list which you can read in ten seconds.
So here goes: Rules for entry:
- Your profile on facepunch MUST have the town in which you live in the UK set as your location if your vote is to be counted.
- You MUST live in the UK. If you don't, don't bother trying to enter. Even if you're planning on buying a plane ticket to get here. Sorry.
- You must sit on the 'official' facepunch row at the event. This is simply because, after spending £72 on you, it would be cool to actually see you at the event and not have you hidden amongst 1500 smelly geeks.
- You have to make your own way to the event, travel costs will NOT be included.
- I must be satisfied that a reasonable number of people have entered if I am going to pay out.
- Hotel costs are NOT included
- You have to bring your own computer. The Turn up and play tickets are far too expensive.
- If you do not turn up to the event, you will be expected to explain why you've been so ungrateful.
- If you win the competition you will need to provide proof of address and proof of identity to me, so I can book your ticket for you. The proof of address can be anything official with your address on it. Phone bill, whatever. The proof of identity can be a passport or driving license. Obviously it only has to be a scan or photograph of the document as long as it's readable. If you're not willing to share this information, don't bother entering.
- One entry per person
- You must have parental consent if you are under 18. If you win, I book your ticket then find out you can't come because your parents aren't letting you go, I will be very pissed off because I wasted £72.
- If the winner of the competition is banned from facepunch at the time of the ticket being booked, you will no longer be the winner. There will be no winner. If the winner drops out, that's it. No second chances for anyone.
I think that's everything.
Disclaimer:
I reserve the right to disallow entry to the competition for any reason. I also reserve the right to not actually book the ticket if I have no money left before I can contact you and receive all needed information.
That is all. To enter, all you need to do is read this post, post in this thread with your username and any other comments you may want to include, sit back and keep your fingers crossed. If there's anything I've missed, forgive me. I'm tired.
The competition closes one week from now (10pm, Wednesday 2nd December 2009)
This is not a scam. I'm better than that.
(If you screw up and don't read this properly and your post is on the first page, I will let you off as long as you edit your post to meet my requirements within an hour)

The pressure has been relieved, thank you. :v:
Didn't enter because I live in the North-East and travel+accommodation costs would be hundreds even if I were to win.
Good luck to all participants anyway.
I just agreed to the poll before reading the rules :/
are you buying some kind of godlike mansion tent?
Firstly, I would need at least one person to go with me, that would mean I would need 2 train tickets, 2 sets of multiple bus fares and multiple nights in a 2 bed hotel room. It all adds up.
This would be great considering I have no job at the moment. <3*
