• Apple looses lawsuit, gets taste of own dickery. All iphone 4 owners that didn't get a free case get
According to CNET, a class-action lawsuit over the iPhone 4's troublesome antenna, aka Antennagate, has been settled. The planned resolution will net US residents who bought one and presumably either $15 in cash or (another?) free bumper case. CNET quotes co-lead counsel Ira Rothken (who, by the way, also represents Megaupload) saying that he believes the settlement is "fair and reasonable", affecting some 25 million people who will be notified by email and through print ads in USA Today and Macworld. Once they've received the heads up, they can go to www.iPhone4Settlement.com (not up and running yet) to register their claims. When the issue first came to light back in 2010 Apple suggested holding it differentlybefore saying it would tweak its signal display formulas and, eventually, offering the free cases. Hopefully for the company and its users, this resolution puts the issue -- which is not a problem on the new 4S -- to bed. Update: We spoke to an Apple representative who confirmed that the settlement is for those customers who chose not to take a free case or return their phone back in 2010. It looks like holding out didn't get you much more than the option to take $15 cash instead, but we'll simply consider it a much-needed opportunity to reflect on the International Year of Biodiversity that was.
http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/17/apple-iphone-4-antennagate-lawsuit-settlement/ my advice? dont get the free bumper, take the $15 and run the bumper does this:

wow a whole $15
This will add up. Good.
wait so if i bought one like a month or two ago do i still get 15 bucks?
wow a whole $15
Wait for a Steam sale. Or buy lunch. Or donate it. Plenty you can do.
wow a whole $15
You can do a lot with $15.
Why can't people spell lose.
Bumpers and all those cases damage your phone even more actually. I always carry my iphone without a case/sock/bumper and it doesnt even have a scratch yet. Theres no need for them in my opinion.
You can do a lot with $15.
Gumballs. A lot of them.
you could also get 150 dime store whores with that 15$
Bumpers and all those cases damage your phone even more actually. I always carry my iphone without a case/sock/bumper and it doesnt even have a scratch yet. Theres no need for them in my opinion.
you must have the hands of a god if you're that careful
you could also get 150 dime store whores with that 15$
obligatory 1 $15 whore post though a $15 whore isn't going to be particularly good, but orgies are always fun, so you get the most value out of 150 1 dime whores whoreconomics
Class-Actions never work on a individual level, but I wish that apple would buy me lunch.
Why can't people spell lose.
What a looser.
obligatory 1 $15 whore post though a $15 whore isn't going to be particularly good, but orgies are always fun, so you get the most value out of 150 1 dime whores whoreconomics
it's either 150 dime whores, 15 dollar whores, or one 15$ whore they're all bad, you might as well decide how many though
Why can't people spell lose.
because spellchecker says loose is a word edit: oh wait lose and loose mean 2 different things oops
What a looser.
Incorrect! It's actually spelled "leyhoo heser".
Revenge maybe small, it's still nice to see the big monster can still be beaten.
you could also get 150 dime store whores with that 15$ you must have the hands of a god if you're that careful
I've had my android phone for about a year now. Never been close to dropping it. Only slipped out of my hands when I'm holding it above a table and then it falls like.. 1 cm and I am not super careful about how I hold it. Not ruining your stuff isn't rocketscience.
This will add up. Good.
still peanuts to apple
its a start.
still peanuts to apple
Kinda makes you wonder: "Why didn't they spend a little extra time with quality controlling their device, instead of rushing it out and later tell people they're holding it wrong and should buy a case". I mean with all the money they spend on marketing their device as solid and exclusive it just seems weird.
Phones aren't as fragile as you think. I have an HTC Trophy, the entire front is glass, and I have an iPod touch. I take care not to drop them but when they do fall nothing happens. For starters, minimize phone usage above hard surfaces. That's not to say I haven't dropped my phone face-down on solid concrete before, but it was a ~50CM fall from my pocket. I've only ever dropped one iPod and have it crack, and that was in 2007. Of course, the iPhone is a lot of glass. That's a terrible design feature that means you almost always 100% need a case on it.
I love how 15 bucks won't buy you a new case
They should just offer a free penis app instead
Looks like them iPhone users will use that $15 towards the iPhone 5 or iPad 3
Holy shit i'm going to be rich!
Bumpers? Come on. It's a fucking phone.
Not as epic as the $100 gift card that was given to original iPhone owners when the price was cut. I cashed in on that shit.
I'm gonna spend it on drugs.
I'm gonna spend it on pot and hookers. Cheap pot and hookers.
