According to the posts, the company's Decisive Games team, which 'is focused on world class strategy game development', is hiring three senior software engineers to work on its latest project. The job listings go on to request applicants with 'familiarity of Direct X11 or Xbox 360/Xbox One rendering APIs', effectively confirming a release on both PC and Xbox consoles.
AoE IV?
I can't wait for the inevitable social network integration
This terrifies and excites me in equal proportions.
Sequel to that mobile halo rts game?
Watch as Age of Empires burns.
Sequel to that mobile halo rts game?
they said beloved
I'll be so disappointed if it's another Halo RTS.
Please, please dont make it free to play
Hopefully it's Halo Wars 2 so Age of Empires can remain relatively unmolested.
Whatever it is they're going to ruin it.
Hopefully it's Halo Wars 2 so Age of Empires can remain relatively unmolested.
I am kinda hoping its Halo Wars 2 because I enjoyed the first minus some minor gripes about a few mechanics.
Watch as Age of Empires burns.
They honestly can't ruin it more than they've already done with AoE:Online, it can only get better at this point
I am kinda hoping its Halo Wars 2 because I enjoyed the first minus some minor gripes about a few mechanics.
Would have been pretty good actually, but the biggest unavoidable gripe would be that the strategy and RTS genres suit M+KB to the point where they're almost required. It's not like most genres where controllers are really more of alternative than inferior. But I really can't think of any situations with RTS/TBS where controller is equal to M+KB.
Halo Spartan Assault 2, im calling it
Age of Empires IV, Modern Warfare? Play through historic battles from 1800 all the way to the present 21st century. I can imagine from Colonial ages, WWI era, WWII era, Cold war era and ending in Modern era to possibly future era. Well one can hope.
There is no way to make a console and pc strategy game at the same time. I wish I was in their boardroom just to tell them how bad of an idea this is. There is a zero percent chance of making this any good.
Ah, Flight Simulator X Wars, just what we needed.
RiseRise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz Rise of Nations plz
Rise of Nations is a masterpiece, leave it be. Microsoft would have to aim far too high to make RoN2 a worthy successor. Besides when you say "Microsoft strategy game" 9 out of 10 people will say Age of Empires. It's an Age of Empires game and the bar is low enough because of AoE:Online that Microsoft should have no trouble doing better than a Pay2Win cashshop RTS MMO that took a shit all over it's predecessors.
How about instead of taking an existing franchise and riding off of the success of that (into a pit of fire), they make something that's it's own thing?

I personally thought Red Alert 3 worked well enough on console, a lot better than Halo Wars. I'm not too sure if i'd like Age of Empires being on a console though. But it's not the first time that's happend. Age of Empires 2 was on the PS2, infact. Who knows, it could be that the PC and Console version of the game are completely different.
Gonna be honest I didn't dislike AOE:O all that much. The free to play was silly but there was only like 3 things you actually needed and one was free when it came out. Still was the worst AOE game but I did have a bit of fun playing it, and I did pay way less than I would for a full game for all of the content I wanted
I just want Age of Empires IV... Please Microsoft, don't screw it up any more! Ever since I saw this image when my parents got me the collectors edition of Age of Empires III, I have sorta hoped that I'd see the day of Age of Empires IV with the advancement of technology from Napoleon Era to End of Cold War.
Please, please dont make it free to play
500 woods for 49.99$
Sequel to that mobile halo rts game?
There are no mobile Halo RTS's Spartan Assault is an over the top shooter.
A Halo RTS would be only for the xbox. Spartan assault is not an RTS.
Rise of Nations sequel would be stellar, though they'd probably find a way to ruin it.
They honestly can't ruin it more than they've already done with AoE:Online, it can only get better at this point
That's what they said after SimCity Societies and SimCity Social.
Watch as Age of Empires burns.
Age of Empires has been dead for quite some ttime now. Not counting the HD remake. They just released a Windows 8 game
I am kinda hoping its Halo Wars 2 because I enjoyed the first minus some minor gripes about a few mechanics.
I really enjoyed Halo Wars.
Snip.
