Ohkay, I'm on the Ubuntu distro and awhile ago I tried installing Adobe Flash Player, I tried to do it from their site, and ended up attempting to install a package, don't remember the extension. Something like tar.gz or some bullshit. And I think that messed it all up, because now when I try to install Flash Player the correct way through the terminal, using "$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree", I get this error. I think the failed earlier installation attempt through the package or whatnot left some files and are conflicting with my present attempts. Here's the console log.

I like browsing the web with linux, however not being able to view videos really ruins the experience. Any attempted help is appreciated..

I appreciate your help, I might just reinstall Ubuntu and start over.
However I do that.
Just curious, are you installed with Wubi? 95% of the problems we deal with on Ubuntu are caused by some issue with Wubi.
I don't think I am. I downloaded the iso from the site and mounted it. By the way I didn't use a flash drive or CD through the initial installing of it. If that matters.
try going back to adobes website and selecting os type on linux flash player and get the ubuntu 8.04 + .deb then open it install then presto
edit: send in the info if it works plz
[editline]10:57PM[/editline]
or try synaptic (correct my if I said that wrong) or try add/remove programs it's in there
Been trying to remove the "flashplugin-installer" package forever, it's the thing that has been fucking everything up. In the Package Manage, when I try to mark it for removal and want not, it shows up this error "E: flashplugin-installer: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 2". Is there anyway I can get rid of this without purging or whatever, and just... I don't know, this is annoying. And also that package on the adobe site won't let me install it because it says the flashplugin-installer is conflicting with it. :sigh:

It sounds like you are.
So, no fix?
Ah well.
Thanks for the effort :)
Aye, you installed it with Wubi, Wubi is a massive pain in the ass.
*sigh* flash... what problems can't it make?

FTFY.
I find Wubi lame, and wish it never existed. It's more trouble than it's worth. -_-
