1. I got a new harddrive a couple of days ago (WD Caviar black 1TB) and i cant see it in the computer menu (start>Computer) and i really need a new harddrive. My computer can find it though, i saw it in the "Micro$oft Management Console" in the control panel. What should i do to see it?
2. My computer is really fucking slow so sometimes i can't even log in because the
computer just stops. It only runs fine in safe mode. Can it be a virus?
Edit: I obviously haven't scanned my computer 'cause i can't come that far before it locks up.

1. Go to device manager > disk management (depending on what windows you have). The option to format your knew drive (if you hooked it up right) should be found there.
2. Go to msconfig (Run > "msconfig") and uncheck everything under startup that you don't ABSOLUTELY need. Nine out of ten times, that is the issue.
If either of my suggestions fail, please post the result if any, and post specs and temps.
Posted specs.
Where is the option to format?
bump.
Also, the solution for problem 1 just makes the computer start quicker, it still freezes when i click on the start orb or an icon on the desktop.
Automerge fail
