Is it possible to change notebook/laptop monitor? I got a 15" monitor I'd like to change with a 17". Is it possible? If yes, is it complicated?
Possible, yes. Easy? Not really. You'd end up with an ugly monitor that overhangs the base with probably mismatched hinges. And chances are the resolution of the new monitor would be too big for the video to handle. So to put it bluntly: It's very possible but not practical
Oh it doesn't have to be practical, I dont move my laptop at all. I was just thinking if my 8600M can handle it for example

If you have a non integrated, go for it. But like I said the hinges likely won't match up and it would be a pain in the ass if you ever have to move it.
uh what?
Sorry, I mean't DONT. I don't move the laptop at all
If you have a non integrated, go for it. You'd be better off just hooking up an external monitor.
You'd be better off just hooking up an external monitor.
It's gonna be awkward because whenever the laptop closes (the monitor, even) the external monitor will go blank. No?
It's gonna be awkward because whenever the laptop closes (the monitor, even) the external monitor will go blank. No?
Not at all.
the new monitor will do that anyway? I fail to see why this is a problem also connection problems, and that fact that you have a monitor flapping about in a retarded fashion dualscreen is your best solution
Not at all.
But then I need to connect an external keyboard and an external mouse. Hmm..Well, guess thats ok. This laptop has 2 USB inputs
what. mouse yes, but I don't know if you'd looked down and noticed there's a bunch of buttons below the monitor. that's a board full of alphabetical input buttons, also known as a keyboard

That said, whenever I hook up a monitor, and closed down the laptop, the external monitor goes blank
Keep the laptop closed, and use an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard. It's just like you're using a desktop.

Don't even bother thinking about trying this
