I am not going to pay $100 just to get an early release of os 4.
How can I install it on my iPhone 3G? Is there a .ipsw I can download or something?
I don't want stupid replies, or I'll report them.

become an app developer.
First up, do you have a Mac?
yeah, that would be necessary.
I just wanna know how to get this shit to work on Windows. It really pisses me off that I can't put it on my iPhone JUST because I use Windows.

Run PearPC (It's a virtual machine for running older versions of OS X, like Tiger). Install OS X Tiger in the PearPC virtual machine. Connect your ipod and make sure it shows up in iTunes in OS X. The rest should be self-explanatory.

The default iTunes said there was an error communicating with the iPhone so I updated to 9.1. Then it wouldn't even show it (though no error message). I'm about to update to Snow Leopard and see if it'll work there. It'd be better anyway.

I wasn't aware VirtualBox could run OS X. Every time I attempt it, it hangs and errors out before booting..
Is there a certain OS X build/distro I need to seek to make it work? I have two OS X licenses.

You would probably need one of the hacked versions used for OSx86
