Hello H&S section, I require your assistance. I recently got me a GeForce GTX560 by EVGA for Gaming, but noticed that in some games ( TF2, Cs:s, minecraft,...) the performance is not better compared to my old GTS250, but worse! So i looked at Temperatures and all of the Clocks in GPU-Z. Normal Temp (40°C), but I noticed that the Clocks are really low (2D mode?) even when playing a 3D Game it stayed low. Only when I fire up FurMark, the Clocks will go up. I think while playing Red Faction: Armageddon they do too, because I get much better Framerate than before. One last thing i noticed is, that the clocks go up randomly, when not In-game. Here is a Screenshot of GPU-Z: Please, Facepunch, Help me. I wanna feel the real power of my card! Thanks in Advance. <3
Installed the latest drivers?
Sure. Edit: I think i found something. When i set "power saving management" to always prefer max performance" and then start an outdated version of GPU-Z, which forces 3D mode, it will show the normal 3D clocks, but Minecraft still runs 2 FPS. I'm pretty sure its because of the card, because when i had a GTS250 it ran at 50FPS Edit 2: okay, Low FPS in MC was caused by mods, so we got that, but i still need a method to have the card use the 3D mode correctly Edit 3: Working after third restart, somehow. :O
What are the rest of your specs? Minecraft and TF2 are mainly CPU dependent, the GPU isn't the only thing a gaming PC needs.
CPU: AMD Ahtlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz RAM: 4GB GPU: GeForce GTX560
That CPU is a huge bottleneck, you should upgrade to at least a Phenom II x4 955.
