• My Niece thinks video games caused her acne !!

Sometimes Google has so much information overload that people can come to lame conclusions like my 15 year old niece who feels that those hours she spent on gaming is the cause of her acne. She said she doesn't consume unhealthy food, stays out of the sun and uses sun screen lotions and drinks lot of water but her acne gets worse whenever she spends lot of time on video games. Both my sister and me have been blessed with flawless skin and since nobody in our family has acne problem except my niece she has come to this baseless conclusion. She is taking treatment from a dermatologist but there hasn't been any noticeable improvement. She wants to try all the cosmetic and skin care products my sister and me use. I'm not sure whether its right for her to use them. I use Bobbi Brown Corrector and Concealer and MAC Studio Fix Foundation. I'm not sure I want to recommend this combination because for acne prone skin it can cause breakouts so I looked for natural alternatives and friend recommended this IASO BB Cream. Was wondering if BB creams are actually milder option to heavy duty makeup and whether combining this BB cream with concealer will help conceal her acne ? This is slightly off topic but when someone relates video games and acne I can't help but be curious if there are people out there who think the same ? Is there a link between playing video games and acne ? I am guessing the only way I could say that there is even a remote link is that the oil glands might be producing excess sebum but honestly I think that in itself is a far fetched idea :unimpressed: (User was banned for this post ("Another terrible thread" - verynicelady))
Correlation does not imply causation.
Is there a link between playing video games and acne ?
No but there's a link between being 15 and acne.
Correlation does not imply causation.
I would like to think on those lines but when I looked up the correlation on Google there are many young people out there who are drawing such conclusions.
Didn't it occur to her that uh, if she's a teenager, acne usually comes with it? And that it doesn't really matter what she does? [editline]27th July 2015[/editline] I mean, I don't see why she'd blame videogames, it makes no sense.
Is this yahoo answers now?
I mean, I don't see why she'd blame videogames, it makes no sense.
If she's gonna blame something for no reason then she might as well blame something that isn't fun.
No but there's a link between being 15 and acne.
and theres probably a good link to being 15 and a little incompetent
Tell her that shit is stupid [editline]27th July 2015[/editline] tell her J!NX thinks she's stupid
Tell her that shit is stupid [editline]27th July 2015[/editline] tell her J!NX thinks she's stupid
I hope OP reads this thread out to her.
call her a fucking idiot if you need proof cite me i'm pretty well known here don't worry, i'm in the community
officer I didn't choose to be a total shitlord VIDEO GAMES MADE ME THIS WAY
Only if you stop taking care of your hygiene. No wait it'll happen anyway because hormones.
the only video game know to induce acne is runescape
Doctors hate her!
Obviously only violent video games cause acne.
When I had problems with acne around that age I just started washing my face daily and occasionally applying an anti-acne cream to my face and it was gone in like a month
If there was a Nobel Prize of Humor, she would have one.
Isnt that the same thing as claiming that Vaccines cause Autism? Just because someone brings it up doesn't mean that their facts are accurate, or that they have facts at all. Just tell her to use a facecloth and hot water, maybe order some of that special acne cream if it gets out of hand.
everyone knows playing videogames makes u a pimply faced nerd
It's because she is going through Puberty, if the mother or father had acne when they were a teenager, chances are the kid will too.
There could be a bacterial link. Things people handle tend to get really gunky. But most people, while they do wash their hands, don't clean their keyboards/controllers/cell phones/etc. So...in theory I can see how during a gaming session she touches her controller then her face, transferring bacteria. Keeping everything clean and not touching her face while gaming would be the easiest way to rule this out.
