How can they push out a driver that is broken to this degree? I had the same issue myself earlier after updating. Went from stable 120-144fps in Titanfall 2 to barely maintaining 30-40fps on a 1080.
So this is what's causing all my issues, bastard drivers.

Odd, I don't seem to have this issue.

My 900 series could be not hit hard
Oh god they broke F@H. Be prepared for a shitstorm in certain corners of the internet.
Nvidia showing yet again they don't test their drivers.
Its all fine and dandy shipping out drivers but at least test them before putting them out live.
Hell AMD can manage it on a more cut throat budget, why can't Nvidia.
Snip
You already gave me a gimped half gigabyte cmon

Luckily you can skin it to look reasonable.

honestly I just installed msi afterburner to check my clock speeds for this thread
I don't want to overclock my 1060

You should.
You should.
If I directly knew what clock/mem speed I should set it at I would, otherwise I don't want to tinker with it and cause issues.
Worst case you crash while running a test. If that happens, you put it back down a notch. There's no direct clock/mem speed because it's different for every single chip.
Not only do the new drivers have non-optional increased levels of 'telemetry', and not only are nvidia planning to require a special updater and a login to download new drivers in december, but now the new drivers are getting fucked up. I'll be fine just sitting on an older version...
It's like nVidia and AMD inverted their drivers lul..
I remember 1 year ago it was "don't buy AMD because their drivers are shit"...
Now that AMD improved it's driver game by a lot nvidia is losing it's shit with forced registration and this kind of problems..
Seems like we can't have great drivers on both sides...
what is nvidia's deal with vram?
what is nvidia's deal with vram?
The engineering teams are working on a bunch of new and different samples, and the current memory set up is in its last generation, apparently they can't manage both at the same time very well.

That is not how Overclocking works at all, there are no clock/mem speeds that you could just "set" and it'd be fine, overclocking is pushing it while running stability test, till the point where you either think "Holy balls this is great" or "HOLY SHIT BALLS LETS GO INSANE",
As long as the card doesn't run to hot, doesn't start showing artifacts and the power limit is safe: nothing to worry about.
Believe me, it's harder to fry your card than you think.

The cockpit of an F/A-18F Super Hornet is easier to read than this shit goddamn
These drivers also seemed to be causing my computer to power down and restart randomly when loading maps in games for some reason, I have a 980.
Reverting back to the previous release seems to have fixed it.

It'd be even funner if you were a RAAF pilot speaking from experience.
Hotfix is out
