Crosby set up Kris Letang's go-ahead goal midway through the second period and the Pittsburgh Penguins won the fourth Stanley Cup in franchise history by beating the San Jose Sharks 3-1 in Game 6 of the final Sunday night.
http://www.wtae.com/sports/pittsburgh-beat-sharks-in-6-to-win-stanley-cup/40026314 Fun fact: The Penguins won the cup with Sidney Crosby 7 years ago to this day.
 i don't even live in town and people were honking like crazy and cheering i wonder how many coworkers will be hungover tomorrow morning
Ew. Was really hoping the Sharks were going to come back and win for a game 7, but nope.
Gross. Penguins fans are almost as bandwagon-y as Hawks fans. They come out of the woodwork to be a solid 30% of the crowd at home Hurricanes games.

The news is showing the viewing crowd leaving the arena and its absolutely massive, no one is going to work tomorrow [editline]12th June 2016[/editline]
Gross. The Canes arena was only filled to about 3/4 capacity when I went, meanwhile the Penguins have sold out games for years straight.
God damn it [editline]13th June 2016[/editline] Just wait till we finally bring the cup to Buffalo, we'll get it there... someday. And it will be loud.

One day a Canadian team will bring the cup home. Right guys?
One day a Canadian team will bring the cup home. Right guys?
Only if we get a team here in Seattle in exchange.
One day a Canadian team will bring the cup home. Right guys?
Don't worry, I'm sure the Leafs can do it next year. Just like I was sure they'd do it this year, and last year... The Leafs suck.
I'm in the area visiting a friend, there was a literal air raid siren outside when the game ended :v:

Not at all dude, people in Pittsburgh are just really passionate about hockey. If they make up 30% at Hurricanes games when they're playing against the Penguins, they've either gone down there from Pittsburgh or are are people who moved there from Pittsburgh, not just people who jumped onto the team once they came. I say this because my mother is from Pittsburgh and she's just as passionate about hockey as ever even though she's been living in Wisconsin for the past 12 years.
Good job Pens. :sax:
Really wanted to see the Sharks win it but understandably they shit the bed. Poor Jones. I guess at least Kessel got his cup and the damn rookie goaltender got his

Also, as a Blues fan, I'm happy to see Ian Cole win the Cup.
