Ive been needing to upgrade my system, I have
2 9800gt's in SLi,
ddr2 800mhz RAM
775 socket E8500 Wolfdale CPU
750GB seagate barricuda
The problem is though,
The motherboard is a PCI-E x16, but at x8,
supports only low mhz ddr2,
and out of all the ones on newegg the only one that Ifound that suited me didnt support SLI, only crossfire. I dont have all the $$$ to shell out to getting new graphics too.
Just a new motherboard capable of Sli, ddr3 memory, 775 dual 2 core, and the PCI-e express lanes to go at x16. I can see why there arent any on newegg, because if youve got ddr3, SLi, the works. You would normally have a procesor to match, but I have this little dual core, although it is a nice one.
I don't think you need DDR3 with that setup, and correct me if I'm wrong, but with 9800gt's you don't need full x16 lanes. It also depends on how much you want to spend; I'm planning to get this soon - 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots, but it is DDR2. But as far as I know, you won't be seeing improvements by switching to x16, and a minimal performance increase by switching to DDR3.

EDIT:
I found with DDR3 and 2 PCI-E slots (x16)

But again, judging by your specs, you won't see much improvement at all.
