• Please Review My Build

Hello, It's been a long while since I've built a PC, so looking at all the new sockets, RAM types, chipsets and SATA ports is somewhat new to me. I think I've made some good picks but I really need people to go over it before I buy this stuff. Note: I already have a HD6870 and a 550W Cooler Master PSU (with a single high current +12v rail) So here's my proposed build. Any help with assessing compatibility and suggesting better choices would be greatly appreciated! Before I recommend anything, what do you plan to use the pc for?
Before I recommend anything, what do you plan to use the pc for?
Gaming, video editing, HD video, general internet use.
You don't need to fork out extra for xtreme gamer RAM, the difference in performance is negligable. http://www.ebuyer.com/370069-corsair-16gb-ddr3-1333mhz-memory-cmv16gx3m2a1333c9 This would be fine.
- Shall I go Windows 7 or Windows 8?
The only way to get a real answer to your question is to actually install Windows 8 in a VM (or preferably as a dual boot) and see how you like it. If you like it, definitely go for it. If not, then oh well it only costs like $40 at most, no big loss. [sub][sub]and if you don't like it could you give it to me please? i was using the previews and i miss it[/sub][/sub]
Windows 8 has been known to have compatibility issues with some games, if you really plan to use it for gaming I would play it safe and use Windows 7. Also, don't use a 6870 on a 550watt PSU unless you want to kill that power supply in two weeks
