What the fuck.
Is this supposed to be a comedy about Mark Suckerburg and the idiots who made Facebook? I admit, I use Facebook, but I mean, making a movie out of some people who used to be college frat boys? I hope this movie fucking bombs on release day.
Directors are getting stupider and stupider every day. God damnit. Facebook isn't "Cool" or "Hip". It's a website that lets you communicate with your friends and play Farmville (OH GOD NO).
Why do people make movies out of stupid shit? (I know, money, but seriously, what the fuck?)
Edit: Ohmyfuckinggod Justin Timberlake has a role in this? What the fuck. I hope his career divebombs.
Edit2: Yay 250th post!
Simply, People are ignorant, and that is a big part of their life
id rather see a good movie
[editline]12:11AM[/editline]
or transformers 2
It's not a comedy at all. It's a loose docu-drama about how Facebook was started, contested and debated to exist as what we see it now. I for one am looking forward to going to see it.
I like using Facebook, but a movie about it is completely unnecessary and uninteresting.
It's really surprising that people don't know that entertainment has been in a constant downward spiral since the start of the millennium.
This movie looks very creative and interesting.
Is that moot on the cover? How ironic.

It is an original idea, but I don't think it will be all it is cracked up to be. We can hope for the best instead of insulting it without knowing.
People are only being negative towards this because they're mad they don't have any friends on facebook, or something.
I mean shit, it's the most popular single website in the universe, why doesn't it deserve a documentary about its rise?

I agree why would a movie about a website be boring as hell and bad???

Exactly.
"I got a movie made about my college life because I made a website about social interaction! Oh shit!"
Edit: Justin Timberlake ... I hope his career divebombs.

Ahaha, I didn't know it had much further to go?
When I saw the trailer for this, I swear I thought it was CollegeHumor or some shit. This shit is retarded. Lets see them make a movie about the start of Google. I'd see that. At least Google is advancing civilization, while facebook is arguably stagnating it.

I'm sure that's what they said about a movie about something like a treaty
this is going to be like the pirates of silicon valley. except without hippy computer geeks. and steve jobs being a douche.
congrats OP;
You're a dick.
"A movie about facebook, ARARGHGAFHG FAIL PLZ"
It's actually a pretty interesting movie from what i've seen of it.
Well fuck, I don't know, it's a big website, biggest fucking website ever. It won't be about like...the website, it'll be about the founder, and his life and his rise to fame and success.
I think it looks pretty decent.
I love the cover of Creep in the trailer too.

Also, wrong section.
I didn't read the thread, I quit

The "treaty-signing" genre is my favorite genre, please don't make disparaging remarks.

the pirates of silicon valley
I think the main reason this is gonna suck is because they're portraying this guy like he became a drug kingpin from a website. Going to clubs, getting groupies, multi-billion dollar lawsuits... etc.
I'm glad in the cover of Creep, they actually say fucking.

Facebook is becoming a driving force in today's society actually.
While many see it stupid and pointless, it's still pretty useful.
I admit that i hate a large portion who use it and wish they would get the fuck off the internet, in all actuality i don't really give a shit.
If i want to hang out with some friends i just slap an update on my page asking if anyone wants to go catch a movie and instead of individually calling each person who might of have just said no. I just get replies from people who are interested and willing to go.
I'm actually going to see this movie. The trailers don't look too bad.
I need a movie that I can relate to. Farmville 3D.

I don't mean to get all psychiatric or whoever would talk about this but, doesn't that sound like something that is cutting down on social interaction? I mean, I know it's utilized to be social, but before you could slap an update up you had to make a more personal connection to people.

okay but it doesnt need a movie. this isnt a movie about facebook, basically facebook is just the plot device to show the struggles of the main character in dealing with the issues and rewards facebook produced. it would be like making a movie about someone who won the lottery (which they did). only this time its someone famous and they can add some docu-drama bullshit.
Trent Reznor is making music for it, so I'll at least listen to the sound track. :v:
