Hi to everyone
today i was loking for a new gaming laptop, and then i found two that could satisfy to me
the laptops in question are this (both are MSI)
1st:
i7-4700qm 2.4Ghz
780m
8Gb ram
1Tb HDD 7200rpm + 120Gb SSD
17.3''
1800€
2nd:
A10-5750m 2.4Ghz
8970m
8Gb ram
750 HDD 7200rpm
15.6''
900€
(this option could allow to me buy some peripherals, for example displays, keyboards, etc)
I am indecisive, not for the price, it is by the CPU, the benchmarks show to me that the 2nd option could be better if the CPU run at more 3Ghz, and for the moment is not usually that this happens
so which is better option? I hope that the laptop have a usefull life of 3-4 years minimun. Thanks for all
The first will be streets ahead.

THe A10 will gimp the 8970m.
You shouldn't even consider considering an A series processor for a high performance gaming laptop.
This might be usefull:

Also any reason you want a laptop? You know that a similar priced desktop will vastly outperform it and be upgradable? As opposed to a laptop which will be to outdated to effectively game on in a few years.

They also like to have meltdowns. I've serviced a couple of different model laptops with APUs and they would mad overheat under even a moderate load. Replacing the awful stock thermal compound with the expensive stuff did little to help the problem.
Bulldozer arch not laptop friendly.
