I can imagine that, if things fall through with Human Head, they may shift development to someone like Arkane after the massive success of Dishonored.
I always had a feeling the old boy wasn't dead; I liked what I saw at Eurogamer back in 2011 with the whole "alien noir" thing which was like Blade Runner on an alien planet. I just hope it pulls through and comes out without suffering too much in the threshing machine of mainstream triple-A game design. It'd be a shame to see something so promising just fade away after all the work that was put in.
Also, the thought of transferring development over to Arkane is comforting if Human Head goes down like a muff-diver at an all-you-can-"eat" buffet, what with the amazing nature of Dishonoured, though if it does change hands I hope it doesn't impact negatively on the development of the aesthetic or gameplay. Then again, Arkane DID make Dark Messiah, which from what I've heard had really good combat, though swinging swords and making icy patches are a whole different beast from launching rockets from your shoulders. But to be honest, if they put in an ice-spray gadget that made slippery icey patches, that would be the best thing ever.
"Indefinitely delayed" essentially means "canceled"; both basically mean that a game will likely never see the light of day.
Honestly, Prey 2 is the game I was most wanting to see at the start of the year. I still really want to see it, so hopefully things get worked out. Though in the same vein, I want to see more on Cyberpunk from CD Projekt Red. I mean, they have Mike Pondsmith working with them on the development, and the Witcher games are awesome. I'm hoping for a lot more freedom with it though. More than just fiddling about in one area for a bit, then being forced to go to the next one. Full free-roam. I'd also like to be able to jump. Like, really want to jump. The ability to jump in a game has always been one that is a major factor in my opinion of the game. Witcher 2 is one of the few that lacks that ability that I still really like.

From what little I've seen though, it seems like they are going more down that route. A non-linear story line, custom characters and classes, all kinds of things.

The main issue would be that Prey 2 is supposed to have full free-roam and such, and not just limited to the areas pertinent to your current mission. You'd be able to go out to any area and do things there, pick up missions and bounties at will, and basically do whatever you want. Dishonored is a pretty linear game. There's a little wiggle room, but ultimately not a lot.

Yeah; but even though it was kinda linear, it was still a fair bit more expansive than most nostril-fishhooking sightseeing tours with guns. Also, without jumping and whatnot, it's not easy to do exploration as well as it could be; I dunno what mainstream developers have against proper entertaining use of knees nowadays, though maybe they're too focused on nostril-fishhooking and backdoor romance with chest-high walls (fanart that, internet, though you probably already have) to think about implementing secrets and rewarding exploration.
Jumping adds a whole other dimension to pretty much all games, as does having actual health and other resources to manage; having the skill-points be things you find by exploring is a good thing to do in that kinda game.
I remember playing Prey... and within the first hour at that bit with the kids eating each other... that's when I turned it off.
Nooooo ;_;
Prey was cool as hell and Prey 2 was going to be my GOTY 2013

I really hope they can give the IP to Arkane. I dig human head for doing Prey but it seems like Arkane would be a more suitable choice for the game.
I really hope Prey 2 comes out soon. I finally played Prey a few months ago, and it was one of the most unique and fun games I'd played in quite some time.
it was idtech 4 though
idtech is an even worse engine richy!!!
I liked prey because it was different. When I saw Prey 2's trailer I was really thrown off by how wildly different it was compared to the previous one (the CGI trailer). Then I saw the gameplay... I took everything back and wanted it so badly.

What a baby you are.
Prey was actually really great, although I never digged the unreal engine. It reminded me so much of doom.
It used the Doom 3 engine.
