Steam's broadcast won't never take out Twitch, why? Money, you can't get money by streaming on steam, it is simple as that.

It is significantly more convenient than Twitch though. The real money won't move over, but I can certainly see a lot of smaller broadcasters using Steam once the service improves.

Also I've heard the delay is much lower than on Twtich.

And better: you can choose between only stream private to your friends/invited friends aswell!
Yeah I'm pretty sure this will be monetized later. Remember all Gabe's interview schpiels about monetarily rewarding people who bring value to your service(s)?
I think it's funny how they chose a picture that says "Press □ to Pay Respects". You think they know about CoD?

It depends on net connection, I have seen longer delays,
What is the main reason People don't use Google+ hangouts for gaming other than it's aimed towards chatting? Seems like the Google servers would be the strongest out of Twitch and Steam.

Depends on who's on the recieving end. I've had nigh instantenous (like 1 second at most) up to 15.
someone should stream the Orion Launch and label it Kerbal space program
Steam at the moment can't save streams, either
I was playing a lengthy RPG with a friend watching to try out steam broadcasting and I accidentally left a hole in recorded gameplay because of it :v:
Tbh I think Steam Broadcast is just a way 2 or a small group of friends can just see your game. I dont think it is meant to take on twitch for a large audience and viewerbase.
Steam Broadcast = Watching together with a friend
Twitch = Attending to a audience
