Hello, I'm just wondering whether the Logitech G500 is RoHS compliant. I would appreciate a reply. It is the only thing that is holding me off from buying it. Also,if anyone has a better mouse for me,I have rather large hands and they are still growing at a rapid pace.I prefer comfort over speed but would like a gaming mouse. thanks, Alex
It is. http://www.buy.com/prod/logitech-gaming-mouse-g500-laser-usb-10-x-button-black-silver/q/loc/101/211822306.html Scroll down to specs.
Weird requirement. Logitech comply with RoHS, and have done on all products since July 1st, 2006.
It is. thanks, Rampage
yes, now why is that holding you back
yes, now why is that holding you back
because its not safe otherwise and may contain plutonium [editline]03:04AM[/editline] thanks, rampageturke
because its not safe otherwise and may contain plutonium
The fuck? RoHS is more about reducing the amount of toxic Heavy metal as much as possible, and using non toxic plastic and paint, making it easier to recycle, and burn/deposit it
why on earth would that ever hold anyone back from purchasing something?
So, they make mice shitty and easy to break. Id rather not buy anything RoHs compliant :c00l:
So, they make mice shitty and easy to break. Id rather not buy anything RoHs compliant :c00l:
kinda hard not to nowadays. shit's pretty much global
why on earth would that ever hold anyone back from purchasing something?
In the industrial sector it would stop companies using a device, but in home use there's nothing stopping people using non-RoHS compliant products.
RoHS is crap. Sure, the solder loses the lead but it's a BITCH to work with (you got to heat it up a lot more to get it to melt) and the lead-free solder has an issue with growing tiny "whiskers" which eventually make contact with surrounding components and shorts stuff out.

Who here has a G500?
I do.
I do.
Is it nice? What do you like about it? Are there any cons to it? thanks, alex
because its not safe otherwise and may contain plutonium
Raging at someone on the internet? Buy a non-compliant RoHS device, and nuke em.
Is it nice?
Yes, better than the G5 v1 it replaced and miles better than the MX518. As for the Coolermaster Storm Sentinel Advance I got before the G500, it was sent back within a day. Nothing compares to Logitech mice.
What do you like about it?
The scroll wheel is very fluid (but with defined clicks unlike the G5 v1), even in the normal clicky mode. I personally love this. The sensor tracks at least as well as the G5 on a Razer Sphex, at the same DPI settings. And it has that great Logitech shape.
Are there any cons to it?
The side buttons, while well defined, are badly placed imo. I find it hard to reach the forward button while gripping the mouse lazily (with my hand further back than when gaming), so I was forced to bind the middle button to the forward action. Definitely not a major con though, and it probably won't affect most people.
the only reason it should be on your iron is when you tin the tip, which you don't remove. are you trying to apply solder to the tip then transfer it to the joint?
Yea lol. I didn't learn how to solder so I do it by applying solder to the tip then transferring it to the joint,I don't really solder too often and this method seems to be the most efficient for me. Could you give me a link to a straightforward guide on soldering? [editline]06:49PM[/editline]
Yes, better than the G5 v1 it replaced and miles better than the MX518.
Gaw;24494238']>implying a finger grip/claw grip mouse is compatible with a person who uses a hand grip and refuses to try anything different
I agree even though you used >implying wrong
Gaw;24494238']>implying a finger grip/claw grip mouse is compatible with a person who uses a hand grip and refuses to try anything different
By hand grip you mean palm grip right? Because as far as I know, there is no such thing as a hand grip.
Hey,I got the mouse and its freaking awesome. it was 54.99!
