What is Raspberry Pi?
Raspberry Pi is a tiny computer that costs 25$.
[t]http://www.raspberrypi.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Raspi-Model-AB-Mono-1.png[/t]
The processor is an ARM11 Broadcom along with a GPU that can play Quake.
What OS can I run on it?
Most Linux Distros that can run on a ARM architecture. The official ones are Debian, Fedora and Arch Linux.
What is this supercomputer you talk about?
Well, since these computers are so cheap you can basically buy 10 of them and link them together. Put it in your backpack along with a battery
and you're good to go.
Holy shit this is cool when is it going to be released?
The planned date is late this month or early next month.

Although small, this little beast can play 1080p videos! It has HDMI plug so you can hook it up to the TV and use it as a HD movie player. Very useful.
Might get one of these, and make myself a wrist computer.
It can run Quake 3 with a smooth framerate.
Good enough excuse to buy one.

It's running Google Android as OS
Expensive tho

Someone on the Raspberry Pi forum is going to make a Pip-boy 3000 using it.
I thought there was a typo in the OP when I saw $25. I was wrong. I do indeed want one of these when they are finished.
How easily would one of these break?
Could you connect these up making little super computers. Eg link together 4.
Oh god
Buy 4 of those
Install Quake on all of them
Have a complete LAN party setup in your pocket
All you need is 4 monitors...
Supercomputer? 10 of these together wouldn't even be as good as a midrange pc. Still cool though as a media center type thing.

For its size its a real supercomputer, that tiny thing can play pretty good looking 3D games and play 1080p movies
this can schools in poor countries a lot.

will it be in casing or just a plain card? I guess it would have some kind of casing.

I think its gonna be left for the users to make cases and stuff, Lego case here I come.

It doesn't have casing normally but they've said they're going to release cases for it.

Doesn't seem necessary. Especially as it has several vertical connectors sitting on the board.
Duplicate thread? There is one in HS, where it probably should be?
If some one designed a case and some bespoke software we could make real life personality cores from portal.

Do you even know what a supercomputer is.
Don't see a need to carry a computer with me besides a phone so I don't really care. Would be good for schools, Except students will hate to learn linux.
Interesting to see if someone runs Android on this.
-snip- bad reading

Yes i do
I misread the title as £25. I feel sad. But I knew it was far too good to be true.
Why? £25 is more monies than $25.

Genius.
This device is very cool, and I might buy one, but I don't know what I'll use it for...
How powerful is this compared to something like an SGSII?

Ultra secret porn browsing machine of doom.

Firefox's Private Browsing mode is enough.
You mean, like the other ten million tiny portable computers that run linux and are currently on prototype/preorder phase.
[editline]8th January 2012[/editline]
Also, could it run Windows XP?
As long as it can run 1080p vids it's pretty much perfect for any kind of media center. They also announced an XBMC port which will make me buy one instantly.
