(Yes, aircraft are commonly rebuilt from their wreckage for the investigation, like above)
If you're a massive aviation nerd and/or frequent flyer like me, you'll like this show.
It's an in depth look into how and why crashes and incidents in civil aviation happened, how the crash was investigated, and the the changes made to aviation as a result.
You might be thinking this is quite the opposite of something you'd want to be watching before flying, but I find it has the opposite effect of scaring me. One thing the show does great is show how future accidents are avoided by the things learned from the extremely in-depth analysis of every incident and crash in aviation. It's nice to know that you're safe up there with the many thousands of safety protocols and features mentioned in the show.
If you're a brit, it's on the Nat Geo channel. It's currently on its 12th season.
Any other viewers on facepunch?

I love the show personally. But I always forget to watch it. The last one I watched was the one with the Korean flight from Anchorage to Seoul, that ended up going off course and flying over the Soviet Union, who due to coincidence thought that it was a US spy plane and shot it down.
I remember when this show came non stop on Nat geo.
Seriously, like 6 hours everyday.
i watched this before flying bad fucking idea because id forgotten we were going away
I used to watch a bunch of this show and another one like it (Seconds from Disaster, I think.) It's really informative and teaches you a lot. I strongly recommend watching it.
Just decided to get season 1, it looks like exactly my kind of show.

It just keeps getting better and better.
The CG in a lot of the later episodes is fantastic.
You can also start at any season.
Anyone know if the show is in the US too, if so what time? Would love to watch the show, I always love watching those types of shows.

I know it's on in the US because I've watched it there :v:.
It's also on Nat Geo, I think.
I used to love watching this.
I watch this on Nat Geo every morning when I can. I remember an episode where the pilots and passengers suffered from hypoxia. There was only a single guy left who was conscious, and it was his big chance to save the plane and become a hero. If he had acted faster, he could have revived the pilots before it was too late, but the plane crashed despite hours of survival. Saddest episode that I have seen. :smith:
