YELWA, Nigeria (Reuters) — A suicide bomber set off a car full of explosives at a church in northern Nigeria on Sunday, killing at least 12 people in the latest attack on Christian worshipers, witnesses said. Security officers at a roadblock nearby said the bomber forced his car through the checkpoint and drove into the church in Yelwa in the state of Kebbi. “I had just left after the morning service and was out of the church when I heard a loud explosion,” said Aliku Jon, a mechanic. “I rushed back and there were dozens of people lying in pools of blood. Many were injured, including two police officers.” It was not clear who was responsible for the attack, although churches have been singled out this year by the militant Islamist group Boko Haram, which has increasingly used suicide bombers. Boko Haram has been blamed for hundreds of killings in bombings or gun attacks over the past two years. It says it is fighting to reinstate an ancient Islamic caliphate in northern Nigeria that would impose stricter Shariah law. It has become the chief security threat in Nigeria, Africa’s top oil producer, and has linked up with other Islamist groups in the region like Al Qaeda’s North African wing. But its sphere of influence is far from oil-producing facilities in southern Nigeria. The sect had been less active in recent weeks, as a security crackdown in the north led to the deaths and arrests of several commanders. Them damn muslamics.
I wonder how many decades it will take for Nigeria to solve these problems.
Them damn muslamics.
Soon our fellow friend here at facepunch called the frog will visit you.
I wonder how many decades it will take for Nigeria to solve these problems. Soon our fellow friend here at facepunch called the frog will visit you.
It's sobotnik, It's to be expected. He's one of the most hated FPers.
Them damn muslamics.
How ignorant.
Who's the asswipe that rated this winner
It's sobotnik, It's to be expected. He's one of the most hated FPers.
That is a bit harsh.
That is a bit harsh.
You are a man of copious amounts of stupidity and ignorance when it comes to the news. Wait godammit, are you quoting that stupid video again?
That is a bit harsh.
I think that so is damning a whole culture due to acts of sub groups.
That is a bit harsh.
You are, you can't hide that from me
From my understanding, these sorts of attacks have been going on for a while, haven't they?
I think that so is damning a whole culture due to acts of sub groups.
Well its rather obvious that "Muslamics" isn't serious.
Oh look, it's Facepunch's 2 most hated things, Terrorists and Christians.
I think that so is damning a whole culture due to acts of sub groups.
Subgroup being muslims.
Oh look, it's Facepunch's 2 most hated things, Terrorists and Christians.
You can tell how hated Christianity is by how often it is prematurely defended in every thread that even mentions religion tangentially.
Why can't we all just get along?
You can tell how hated Christianity is by how often it is prematurely defended in every thread that even mentions religion tangentially.
It's funny because he was joking and you're the one lashing out prematurely.
Why can't we all just get along?
Because there are other groups who would like to see chaos ensue between Christians and Muslims. Nigeria also has some of the largest reserves of oil in africa. Also, Islam explicitly forbids attacking places of worship. False flag operation.
False flag operation.
You would be surprised at how many people drop the Qur'an as soon as a chance at money or power get involved.
When I read the title, I thought it was referring to some sort of bomber, as in a plane.
It's funny because he was joking and you're the one lashing out prematurely.
I didn't lash out though? I was just making an observation that didn't necessarily specify or even include this thread in particular. What's with the persecution complex?
You can tell how hated Christianity is by how often it is prematurely defended in every thread that even mentions religion tangentially.
that's actually the exact opposite of what happens but good attempt
You would be surprised at how many people drop the Qur'an as soon as a chance at money or power get involved.
Many use it as a simple backing. For example, the intake of drugs is against the Qur'an, yet Al Qaeda's biggest source of income is the Opium trade. They aren't really religious.
People rating this winner? Honestly? "yay christians being slaughtered +1 for humanity!!!11!!/"
